Pune smart city development corporation Ltd. invites all the citizens to participate in the international ideas competition to “Reimagine Sinhgad Road” in Pune city.
The competition aspires to seek citizen feedback and active involvement in the design of streets as public spaces thereby generating a broad consensus and community pride.
‘Make your cities Smart’ is an important step towards engagement of citizens in deciding and having a say in what their city, public spaces and streets need to be. The smart city initiative cannot succeed without the active involvement and engagement of its citizens.
Leveraging its rich cultural and natural heritage, strong human capital and strong business environment as key strengths, Pune aspires to become the most liveable City in India by solving its core infrastructure issues in a “future proof” way and by making its neighbourhood beautiful, clean, green and liveable. The Competition is guided and underpinned by these very core principles.
This is an opportunity to send us your creative ideas from citizens’ point of view and tell us why you would like them to be implemented and more importantly share your own vision for your city. Up to three winning submissions will be rewarded with the cash prize and the ideas will be considered for implementation.
Your ideas and engagement can revitalize the character of the street and benefit the future generations.
Let’s join hands to make “Majhe Pune, Smart Pune”.

Please find docuemnt with some must have ideas in smart city
Being a Punekari, I would suggest that we not only aspire to make our City (in this scenario, Sinhagad road) smart in terms of technology but also sustainable. We would love to see the medians having some beautiful plants/trees. Also, traffic running smoothly according to the proper lane system. Our expectations are simple and achievable. So I hope, if we can have this imagination turned into reality by you'll.
STREET MUST BE A GATEWAY TO HEAVEN
First of all for Pune to be smart , the biggest need is a good public transport network. While BRTS has been implemented , its not complete and surely not completely reliable. The goal should be that every main area should be in BRTS network which can be build on arterial roads. Plus for those areas where BRTS is not possible , at least they should be connected through feeder bus or private autos (in an organized manner in another dedicated lane ) to a nearest BRTS junction.
I have prepared a proposal for Sinhgad Road, Pune to improve the public services to as much extent as possible. I have also kept in mind the overall expected budget of the Government for the same.
respected sir/madam,
i have plan about clean india mision . for actively work on these mission . there is responcible body should must arrange in city for particular area .membere of that body have responcile for cleaness of that area.
We may implement double decor bus on this busy routes as per requirements of pick hours to overcome traffic congestion problem. People need a good public transport & this type of measures will help them to travel safely. Apart from Sinhagad Road, this can be implemented on trial basis on the most busy routs of PMT to minimise the intensity of the above problem.
Some non stop buses can be also tried for a long route like Swargate- Dhayari to facilitate long route passangers to travel in short.
I am going to request for the possibility for the tram like service, which can accomodate only few meter space from both sides of the roads & can go straight for almost a long route from Swargate or from Sarasbaug to khadakwasla, panshet or till a historical sinhagad fort. Plenty of people can travel in this type of vehicle with lots of comfort & safety. This may be a single decor or may be double decker as per requirements.
The rails could be evenly levelled with road.
This may work well.
