Bhongir fort in Nalgonda district of Telangana can be developed into a rural tourism destination. At regular intervals folk dance festivals, literary festivals can be organised to attract tourists.Adventure sports events like-Rock climbing to school and college students will improve the image of the destination. There is an ample scope for development of parks and gardens of various flower varieties .A heritage exhibition may also be an attractive element for the development of tourist traffic.

A prototype of traditional village of over 100 years can be a good product for development of rural tourism.A model village in every state may be developed in 50 acres. This village should have the facilities of actual village before 100 years in that state. It should have the facilities like--No tech gadgets,no flooring, tiled roofs, one pond, only bicycles, bullock carts,no L.P.G gas , only traditional Chullas etc.Tourists can stay in the village enjoying traditional rural lifestyle on payment.

I lived in Pune(Maharashtra),here famous temple of Bhimashankar is situated in forest region.Peoples living there survive on forest economy by selling flowers and other things. But,there is prohibition on them due to forest rules. So,in region like Bhimashankar forest rules will be minimized.Because local people only can devlope the tourist places which are situated in remote areas.

Promotion of Rural Tourism is a tough task in view of poor Rail network up to the villages and lack of airports. However, potential is much higher. Rural tourism should be a combination of our rich culture, wild animals sanctuaries, pilgrimage places, handicrafts centers and natural sights. Rural tourism centers can be developed by combining all or some of the above attributes. Every district can be targeted to develop at least one tourist place. Funds can generated from MNREGA and MP funds.
