Suggest smart solutions for solving traffic problems. The solutions may include but not limited to use of innovative digital technologies, administrative and architectural solutions and design of workflows which may be used for solving the problems mentioned in the contest. All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. Questions 1. Suggest one smart solution and/or innovative technology for conveniently dealing with traffic congestion outside your home. 2. One motorcar carries 4 people comfortably; one public bus carries 40 people comfortably. How can a smart city balance the needs of the car and the bus? 3. How can travelling by bus in your city become safer and more comfortable with the use of innovative technologies and smart solutions? Entry Deadline • Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015. Evaluation The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria: • Do-ability (50%) • Innovation (50%) Award Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts: • Rs. 40,000 - First PrizeRs. 25,000 - Second Prize The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot • All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. • The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only. • The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less. Answer2: a)Beside luxury, a person use car for to be punctual and hassle free journey. b)There should be enough number of buses so that people can avoid overloading. c)Bus time table and stoppage time are predefined and it should be irrespective of number of passenger board (just like trains). d)Buses should be available with tracking system (like GPS), so that passenger can check expected arrival/departure time, location and availability of seat in bus using app and web interface.

3.How can traveling by bus in your city become safer.. 3a)Traveling by bus can become safer by installing CCTVs inside the buses and monitored at central location. 3b)Provide Mobile Apps to contact police in case of emergency. The app will inform the police location of SOS based on the mobile GPS. 3c)Buses be provided SOS switches to alert the police in case of emergency. 3d) Bus travel can be made more comfortable by providing space for keeping luggage/ bags of the commuters.

1.a)Public info and grievance redressal: Multiple SMS alerts with crisp, consistent info sent to all citizens in case of issues b)Smart Parking:Cloud based parking-Display empty parking slots in societies/plots to motorists c)Energy: Solar energy panels compulsory for all offices. 2.Common grievance helpline instead of multiple ones. 3.Mass rapid transport,digital knowledge, reservation based on income, not caste 4.Contact,targets,status of work,escalation matrix,awarded contracts docs

2.One motorcar carries... 2a) The success of public transport lies in its reliability, frequency and speed. Hence, to encourage more and more people to use buses there is a need to have dedicated corridors for buses like BRTS. 2b)The bus stops should not be more than 250 meters away from the major office complexes, IT parks etc and 100 meters from shopping malls. This would encourage people to use buses. 2c)Provide Non-stop buses from important locations in the city to major office areas.

(भाग -2 )सर अगर स्मार्ट सीटी में भी गांव की तरह छोटे छोटे स्मार्ट सीटी बनाये जाते हैं तो यातायात की समस्या खत्म हो सकती है ।क्योंकि फिर एक ही स्थान में लोगों की सभी जरूरत पूरी हो जाएगी ।फिर लोग अपने घर से पैदल ही अपने ऑफिस या जो भी उनका गन्तव्य है चले जाता करेंगे ।

Ans: किसी भी कार में 4 व्यक्ति और बस में 40 व्यक्ति सफर कर सकते हैं| हमें इस प्रकार की जागरूकता लाने के लिए शहर के मुख्य - मुख्य चोरहों पर,एवं मुख्य पेट्रोल पम्पो पर, वहां की पुलिस विभाग और स्कूल,कॉलेज के student द्वारा एक अभियान चलाया जाना चाहिए , वहां के लोगों को जागरूक करने के लिए | लोगों को ये जानकारी देना की अधिक जनसंख्या में जब लोग बस में सफ़र करेंगे तो वो सफ़र हानिकारक हो सकता है | दुर्घटना की संभावना बढ़ जाएगी अतः 40 व्यक्तियों से अधिक लोग बस में न चढ़ें |

1.Suggest one smart solution... 1a)Synchronize traffic signals on a stretch of road, for faster flow of traffic. 1b)Maintain the roads free from potholes for smooth & uninterrupted traffic flow. 1c)Implement lane disciple for smooth flow of traffic. 1d) Stop pedestrian crossing the roads by erecting barricades in the median. For pedestrian crossing, provide Foot-Over Bridges(FOB)/Subways. 1e)Do not provide a gap in the median at places where lanes/ service roads joins the main road.

#MeraShaharMeraSapna traffic problems.. * No entry of four Wheelers within city during peak hours. * Heavy fine on parking at no parking areas & declared speed limit for different roads. * Use of CCTV cameras & especially trained cops for traffic squad with advance motorbikes. * Facility of bicycle on rent on hourly basis. * No entry for heavy vehicles inside the city. * Parking fees must be higher so that one uses its vehicle when they need it actually. * Efficient AC/non AC city buses.

1.Change the timings of school and office.The School and office will open at 9-10 am.The school timings will 8am -2pm.The office timings will 10am-6pm. 2.Run more Public Buses.Restriction of motor car for travelling.Create awareness in people that travelling in Bus is safer,economy,eco friendly and comfortable. 3.Start one Public bus app which gives details of bus timing,ticket price,distance between the two places,bus root,reaching timings.
