Basic problem correction like making good enlarged road, making pavements, are important. TRAFFIC OUTSIDE HOME can be solved by car sharing (with others & self drive zipcar like service). Cycling(healthy,no fuel cost,no pollution) can be promoted like yoga for balancing BUS & PRIVATE CAR. TECHNOLOGIES with real time analysis(GPS,cameras) of current traffic condition should be adopted & modified for Indian scenario.GPS enabled public transport, trained staffs, school education is important.

Pressure is mounting on traffic authorities to maintain proper channelization of traffic, maintain law and order, identifying and punishing the people who violate traffic rules, reduce and clear traffic jams and reduce the number of accidents on roads. Therefore, we require an efficient and intelligent system for monitoring traffic. This inspired us to come up with the idea of developing a “BHARTIYA TRAFFIC INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM (BTIS)”.

YES WE CAN Simply, ask all state CMs to inaugurate at least 1 flyover/underpass/railway bridger bridge per town/city per month. I know you have implemented this in Gujarat, (I myself have noticed this in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and on NH 4 on Mumbai Ahmedabad rd). This rollout is much needed on pan India basis. Will we have this kind of development? Pls reply YES WE WILL Perhaps it's better to convert all existing cities to a smarter one than to create 100 new smart cities

I happen to pass by approx 40 major crossroads and 1 railway junction and 1 river during my 35 km journey of 2-2.5 hrs.For this journey I have no railway bridge, and only four flyovers and one underpass. I waste my at least 40 mins out of 2 hrs at each of the 40 crossroads. And think of number of people, number of vehicles plying on this road on daily basis, the total time wasted @ all traffic signal would be approx 100 yrs daily. Can we save this man - years by allowing smooth traffic flow? Yes

3. For ensuring safety in buses, esp at night, a button can be installed discretely on ladies seats. If pressed, it’ll immediately push bus details and bus GPS location to police control room. They can take swift action to locate bus and resolve problem. If the button is tampered with then it will send distress signal and stall the bus.
