Digital content uploaded by citizens on social media websites, government websites, etc. include text, photos, documents, etc. Such content requires filtering before it can be stored in databases or published online for public viewing. This filtering includes scanning for inappropriate content like potentially communal or politically sensitive statements, pornography, etc.

MyGov proposes to integrate such tools managing the content on the platform. Suggestions are invited regarding the best currently available software that can be used by MyGov for rule based online content filtering. The suggestions should include complete name of the software, details of the software, vendor and the relative merits of the tool vis-à-vis other such tools. The inputs can be provided in text, .doc or .pdf format.

MediaDetective software is client based software but if customized can be used on server's too. The software detects porn, also it has keyword scanning. Visit www.mediadetective.com for more reference. Jay Hind

I am glad to contribute - There are quite a few software which can be used for Internet filtering. Below are the best 3 (in my view): 1 Net nanny is a powerful solution that categorizes in real time (so it doesn't rely on white/black lists), offers remote management, has a flexible alert/reporting tool, and can handle the usual suspects for parental controls/content filtering (time controls, profanity masking, IM management. 2. Safe Squid - more business-oriented. 3. Open DNS

We can work with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for having filter which filters pornographic images, block website that promote communal violence, torrent website for pirated software and viruses.. Some operating system also has content control like Mac, Windows vista, web browsers. use of these can help filter content but will require manual tweaking in it.

It sounds difficult to get that software readymade but it will be possible if we try to make such protocol ourselves It will require good knowledge of networking and image processing like MATLAB And if ssoftware or protocol is developed by our engineers then it will be helpful for national security of information

for the purpose of security & content filtering I will recommend 4 tier filtering system: 1. primary symantec filtering. 2. auto system vulnerability scanner & Informer based on Intranet system. 3. strict database engine ruler. 4.Application level security should be made by India govt ownself without tendering or ordering non govt firm; and Apps architecture should not reveal ever. and if IDS is attached then it would be better. Thank you!
