Digital content uploaded by citizens on social media websites, government websites, etc. include text, photos, documents, etc. Such content requires filtering before it can be stored in databases or published online for public viewing. This filtering includes scanning for inappropriate content like potentially communal or politically sensitive statements, pornography, etc.

MyGov proposes to integrate such tools managing the content on the platform. Suggestions are invited regarding the best currently available software that can be used by MyGov for rule based online content filtering. The suggestions should include complete name of the software, details of the software, vendor and the relative merits of the tool vis-à-vis other such tools. The inputs can be provided in text, .doc or .pdf format.

Respected admin their is no such perfect available tool for such a kind of filtering it is better to develop DNS and cloud based filtering tool for the purpose. and I am sure that NIC team is capable enough if no administrative officer is road blocker or commission agent is their. Thanks

The best filtering can be done by edgecast. It is flexible and is easy to handle so that the rules can be changed as per the requirement. It can AID in governance also and for serving the digital content to its users intelligently. Practically the application of the product might change, so based on the scenarios and the requirements necessary customization might be required

There are endless tools available for web data filtering at multiple levels. I personally recommend OpenDNS for any such operations. I'm not aware of the cost as that product but it is robust and will act well on policies provided by operator. Also, there is a list on wikipedia which can provide basic links to almost all popular web filtering tools avaialble at present(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_content-control_software_and_providers)

Normally firewalls are used for web filtering, as we need it for our entire network all around india,firewalls cant be implemented. we should cordinate with the internet service providers to make specific rules for filtering the content.so once we set the rules,it will be blocked through out the country. eg- porn sites and bb messenger are banned in Saudi Arabia. We should implement in the same way. If am wrong in anything,advance sorry for that. thanks
