How can the latest advances in digital technologies, including use of mobile phones, big data analytics and other information technology solutions be deployed in Smart Cities. The entries may be in descriptive answer types and may use pictures or videos to explain the answers better.
All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
Questions
1. List three municipal services that can be improved with the use of a mobile phone.
2. Describe 3 aspects of your daily life that have improved with the use of the mobile phone.
3. Suggest 5 ways in which the use of big data can make Indian cities into smart cities.
4. Mention 3 new ways that information technology can improve Governance.
5. How can access to information and data make our public spaces safe and secure?
Entry Deadline
• Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015.
Evaluation
The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Do-ability (50%)
• Innovation (50%)
Award
Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts:
Rs. 40,000 - First Prize
Rs. 25,000 - Second Prize

The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot

• All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
• The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only.
• The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less.

3. Easy shopping experience: When we require any thing car to banana we could order by a single click of a button. I remember when I was ill and No one in my home to take care and buy medicines for me from medical store .I went to buy medicine in that situation but today it is possible by a single click. So I think it made my live so comfortable. There are end numbers of experience and example where mobile phone improved our live.

2. Easy access of Taxi service: Today we need to just tap on phone and we hire a nearby cab within a minute. We could see cab location and time that he will take to reach me. We could also send my location to any my relative to see and follow. This was not possible before this revolution we were waiting so long to hire a taxi and we had only option to take own car. So I think it made my live so comfortable.

Describe 3 aspects of your daily life that have improved with the use of the mobile phone. 1.Location Information in Hand: Initially when we don’t have smart phone, we every time confused about any new place where we are visiting and we used to asking many local persons to reach there but today thanks to smart phone and many third party tools i.e: google map application etc. we plan our visiting place before visit there and see it virtually. So I think it made my live so comfortable.

3. Drainage or water leakage information through Crowd source application where user can click an image of wasting water leakage site send it the concern authority. Using Geo-tagged photo and GPS sensor technology (which is inbuilt in all smart phone) authority could identify exact location of issue and respond immediately. It is a great use of mobile phone and help to government by every citizen.

Garbage site status information through Crowd source application where user can click an image of dumped stinking garbage site and send it to the concern authority. 2. Street Light Status through Crowd source application where user can click an image of non-working street light status and send it to the concern authority.

Following three Municipal Services can be improved with the help of mobile services: a. Citi Traffic control : Based on mobile services and enabled active GPS in a mobile phone , locally installed Mobile app can grab the direction/status of user/travels if its moving more than half km in particular route and provide the latest traffic update( most critical) on that route to guide the traveler to take the decision to divert or avoid that route and prepare for forthcoming traffic jam

Smartness of a city is a degree of how Accessible, Affordable & Adaptable public services & goods are to a varied range of inhabitants, income & age groups, with specific emphasis on women, elderly & differently abled.Governance for any smart&efficient system needs to be participatory and informative towards the stakeholders,ie. the tax payers.Easy access for communication of problems, grievances& suggestions with the governing system& a response oriented administration are beacons to smartness.
