Digital Locker is a key initiative under Digital India program. It is an online application that aims at eliminating the use of physical documents and enables sharing of verified electronic documents across various agencies. Digital Locker provides a dedicated personal storage space in the cloud to citizens, linked to citizen’s Aadhaar number. It will enable various organizations registered on Digital Locker to push certificates of citizens directly in their Digital Locker in electronic format. Citizens can also upload and securely store the scanned copies of legacy documents in Digital Locker. These legacy documents can be electronically signed using eSign facility. A citizen can share these electronic certificates online with various departments and agencies registered on Digital Locker while applying for the services provided by them. Thus, Digital Locker brings the citizens, issuers and requestors on one platform and reduces administrative overhead of agencies by eliminating paperwork. It will also make it easy for the residents to receive services by saving time and effort.

I was trying to sign up for digital locker. But it showed "UID is responding Please try after some time." This message is displayed so many times. What is this??? How will we become digital if the start is so embarassing.

i can understan this great effort... but i dont feel it will reach everyone.. Basic education about cloud computing lacks in the rural areas. Try to eradicte this first

1.Mobile App for Android and iPhone with great User Interface. 2.Conceptually sound.Visually looks like a catalogue. Why not make it as cool as Dropbox or Google Drive. Better visuals means increased engagement. 3. A simple API like Aadhar one for requesters such as businesses for easy verification. 4. Digital Lockers not for only individual but even for Enterprises and Universities to store government licenses,etc. (paid accounts). 5. Youtube Walkthrough video embedded on homepage.

their is a problem in digital locker . i had a little mistake in my Aadhara card Addrace. i applied online for change the addrace. i got new one but in my digital account addrace was not change soo improve that

Digital locker concept is a great one. The only worry that people have is what if the service gets hacked? All the personal information of people would get leaked and it could cause serious problems for people. The cyber security system for this must be up to date and flawless. Inspite of having a flawless system if it gets hacked then there should be an excellent recovery facility and also probe into this matter Asap and punishing the accused severely.

Include all agencies who is issuing any certificate to directly upload the all relevant certificate with validation and for old certificate make process to upload & verify.Also add facility Digital Application form Portal where all application can applied and will be tracked.
