Help us make Digital Locker better by providing your valuable feedback, comments and suggestions.

Digital Locker is a key initiative under Digital India program. It is an online application that aims at eliminating the use of physical documents and enables sharing of verified electronic documents across various agencies. Digital Locker provides a dedicated personal storage space in the cloud to citizens, linked to citizen’s Aadhaar number. It will enable various organizations registered on Digital Locker to push certificates of citizens directly in their Digital Locker in electronic format. Citizens can also upload and securely store the scanned copies of legacy documents in Digital Locker. These legacy documents can be electronically signed using eSign facility. A citizen can share these electronic certificates online with various departments and agencies registered on Digital Locker while applying for the services provided by them. Thus, Digital Locker brings the citizens, issuers and requestors on one platform and reduces administrative overhead of agencies by eliminating paperwork. It will also make it easy for the residents to receive services by saving time and effort.

Sir, all the technical things regarding digital locker are fine and will get better with good suggestions from all the countrymen. But I request you to appeal all corporates and government offices to ask for digilocker links while doing verification for any candidate or new joinee. Then only we will get to realize our ultimate aim that is digital India.

People should only be given read access and it is the schools/colleges that can add certificates to the locker. Similarly the concerned departments can make changes to a particular document. Locker should be as simple and crispy as possible. \ From people perspective - only read access. From the departments perspective - read and write access.

All the educational certificates, passport, address proof documents should be uploaded and a 3rd party agency must verify the certificates are accurate. Basically extend the KYC process. Maybe the user should be asked to upload utilities ( electricity/ water/ landline telephone)once in a year or once on 6 months to keep the address proof up to date.

It should be like google drop-box where anyone can store his file. In digital locker a person should be able to save his data on cloud and what all the certificates he wants to show to other authorities like for license / interview etc. those certificate access only he should be able to give to 3rd party and 3rd party should not be able to other files in digital locker.

Govt agencies issuing Adhar/PAN/Passport/Ration Card/Docx Registrars/Driving Licence/etc shld have access to update/delete docx in locker directly.User shld not be able to delete/modify such docx and hence they would be tamper proof.Docx printed from locker shld contain suitable security marks and should be made acceptable as valid proof. User shld be asked to upload current photo at some intervals say 12/24 months. At a latter stage banks,stock exchanges,etc shld be allowed to download informn.
