One of the important endeavors of the present government has been to improve the 'Ease of Living'. In simple words, this means that the citizen-government interface, in matters of daily routine, must be made as seamless as possible and as citizen friendly as possible. Among other things, this has translated into reforming many rules and regulations and in an overwhelming number of cases completely doing away with such antediluvian rules which had not only outlived their utility, but in many cases were frankly anti-people. The mandate has been clear - between the citizens and the governments, the rules and processes must defer to ensuring the ease of living of citizens.

Consider for example the earlier rule of seeking gazetted officers attestation to validate one's documents before appearing in exams. That rule is now history. Trusting the citizens was the mandate and self-attestation is now the new rule. Or consider the move to scrap interviews for non-gazetted Group D, C and B government jobs. In one stroke the entire industry of 'recommendations' has been shut down and pure merit has become the norm.

What are other such outdated and ill-conceived rules, regulations or practices that hinder the normal day to day lived experience of the people? In day-to-day governance issues what are the processes or system that can be simplified or simply done away with? Which are processes that serve the exact opposite purpose they are intended to serve? Rules, regulations and laws that serve no useful social purpose but merely create unnecessary red tape and bureaucracy and therefore need to go?

MyGov invites citizens, members of civil society, journalists, students, teachers, police officers, government employees, Parliamentarians, academics experts, bureaucrats, social media influencers, Think Tanks and all other interested people to give their considered view on the subject.

Respected/sir
Petrol pumps owners doing much corruption and not filling accurate amount of fuel and also have no guarantee of purity.
Their should be such compulsory system on each petrol pump so that petrol first come in transparent container with volume level indicator and free compulsory purity test of fuel also on every filling.

Govt should control prices of treatments/tests in private hospitals and health institutions, and should increase standards and qualities of govt. /Civil hospitals. Govt should fix prices of each and every type of test/treatments. According to their standards.

In service sectors Govt. Is spending much money than private sectors still Indians don't getting best services, max govt. Official usually saying to every citizen "BAAD mein ana",and doing work according. To their wish.so govt. Should make single complusory window system for all govt offices for appointment of work so every official will get bound to give service on specified time, and will help to penalise shirker employees.their promotions and increased ta will be decided on basis of complaints

There is continuous getting rush on roads and parkings due to over increasing of vehicles/cars. govt should make some rules for buying car 1.owner should have space in his own house/rent house for parking 2.min. two adults are compulsory while driving car 3.one family should not have more than one car 4.if any rich person desire to get extra car, then make highest tax for it. And this extra tax should be beneficial to other car owners by giving subsidy on insurance.

In monsoon rainy seasons all of Indians suffers due to blockage of roads , houses rinse in water while raining, the major reason behind it ,road contractors make thick layers on old roads over and over every time so height of roads getting continuously higher than buildings, houses etc. Then building ,infrastructure going to rinse in heavy rain, there should be strict rules while passing tenders of road contractors that old road should break first so new road get same height as before.

There should be no vip lane at toll. Every one has to pay toll electronically through fast tag. If any one is entire for no fee, system will automatically open the door and for rest amount is being deducted from fast tag. Doing so monitoring of collection can also be done.
