Nearly a decade and half has passed since the National Policy for Empowerment of Women, 2001 was formulated. Since then significant strides in global technology and information systems have placed the Indian economy on a trajectory of higher growth impacting the general populace and women, in particular in unique and different ways. The discourse on women’s empowerment has been gradually evolving over the last few decades, wherein paradigm shifts have occurred –from seeing women as mere recipients of welfare benefits to mainstreaming gender concerns and engaging them in the development process of the country. These changes have brought forth fresh opportunities and possibilities for women’s empowerment while at the same time presenting new and emerging challenges which along with persisting socio-economic problems continue to hinder gender equality and holistic empowerment of women.

The policy envisions a society in which, women attain their full potential and are able to participate as equal partners in all spheres of life. It also emphasises the role of an effective framework to enable the process of developing policies, programmes and practices which will ensure equal rights and opportunities for women.

The broad objective of the policy is to create a conducive socio-cultural, economic and political environment to enable women enjoy de jure and de facto fundamental rights and realize their full potential.

Girls & Women are beneficiaries of schemes like LAADLI LAXMI, few states have made provision to give gold to girls during marriage. Laptops, Cycles are given free to all girl students in few states. NO benefits is available to boys. Is our Govt for a particular section of gender OR Is it for all caste creed and gender. Do We adhere, abide, believe in Indian Constitution or does Ministry of WCD follows some another Constitutions. Where is the Equality for all? OR IT DOES NOT COME UNDER ME ?

Sir, "child is the father of man", to paraphrase William Wordsworth "A girl child is the mother of mankind". No significant law will bring about a change in mindset, which is the need of the hour. People become what they learn / see / experience in their childhood. A law will only help in prosecuting a perpetrator after a crime is committed, can't prevent a crime. Many women across strata still treat their girl child differently, the desire for a male child is actually more among educated women!

Women Laws are used and exploited to the best way possible, anyone can even imagine... It has become a way to extort money from husbands and their families... If such things keep on continuing, a day will soon come when no one will believe in marriage at all... Husbands and males are harassed and tortured in the best way possible, with literally no option to safeguard themselves...

Ministry for WCD seems to waste TaxPayers Money on such issues instead of ground level work. Empowerment of one doesn't mean depriving others from basic rights. But WCD seems to work only with intention of depriving Men from Constitutional Rights under Article 14 and 21 related to Equality and Life & Liberty respectively.
Its very easy to a women for accusing some person of FALSE RAPE/ Dowry/ sexual assault case and Extort Money from accused for settlement.
Better teach Moral Values in life.

Government should make equal rights to both man n woman , we need that without equality wife treat his husband like slave or dog , and threat him for fAlse case like 498A , DV etc and spoil his life and family .
KINDLY WORK ON GENDER NEUTRALITY - SAVE FAMILY !

This National Policy for Women is full of gender-bias towards women and reeks of Misandry i.e. hatred towards Men and Boys.
Need to start with the removal of current Minister of WCD who's more interested in cause of animals than human beings, has patently anti-men mindset viz. "all violence is male generated" and tried to mislead the nation that the current laws are "gender-neutral".
