With globalization and liberalization of Indian Economy in last two decades, numerous domestic and international companies have been drawn to investing in new modes of business/ business models targeted at the huge domestic market especially in the consumer goods & services. Direct Selling is one of these modes where goods /services are sold directly by the producer/service provider to the consumers. For this different models such as Multi Level/Network marketing, Door to Door Selling, Online Selling, Tele-shopping are being used. These practices are new and different from traditional retail through shops. In the absence of a proper regulatory framework, retail through these models leads to consumer grievances, trader’s issues, slow growth of the sector etc.

The aim of this discussion is to deliberate and evolve views of all stakeholders for providing a regulatory framework to the sector.

I think direct selling industry is the best place to be in. Not only is it empowering common people, but also generating new age entrepreneurs by helping them grow their own business! There is so much support at every point that no one can face a loss at any cost here! It is not the usual greedy world. It is all about people helping other people. And it is the fastest growing industry today! What with it being $178 billion industry! It is a people's biz. All of us and the govt should support it!

We all do direct selling in our day to day routine. Consumer is smart enough to understand whom he should listen to. Do you really go and purchase a product because a celebrity does its advertisement. Every one takes a feedback of a product from the person who uses it, and thats the code of direct selling. Regulations are always welcome to make it better. Getting into Network Marketing is the best way to fulfil your dreams.

Hi Sir,
Its my previledge to be part of Qnet, because I know what I am now and what I am before Qnet in my life. As a human, the values are not measured before but after joining Qnet I learned a lot about the meaning of sharing and spreading the real meaning of Love. Thank you to the all members of Qnet and Datto Sri Vijay Eswar to give us the enlightment as the same which shown us by Mahatma Gandhi.

Direct Selling Industry need to be properly recognized in India. Misleading and old laws are leading to harrassment of people and undue interpretation by various agencies. Not only people, India's future and image is getting damaged because the laws governing this industry are really old fashioned and does not make sense.
When a law leads to unnecessary harrassment of the people for whom it is made, a state or anarchy rises. Thousands of family in India are dependent on direct selling industry.
