Greetings Sir,For a long time, India was known mostly for writing software. While our engineers built apps and tested programs, the actual computer chips were always made in other countries. We wrote the code, but someone else owned the hardware.Across tech labs in cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, Indian engineers are designing chips from scratch. Instead of trying to build the most expensive, ultra-tiny processors right away, they are focusing on practical needs. They are creating small, energy-smart AI chips that can work directly inside everyday devices—like smart farm sensors, electric scooters, and medical monitors—even without an internet connection. At the same time, new chip factories and packaging plants are coming up in places like Gujarat and Assam. With AI tools helping designers test chips faster and cheaper, India can build high-quality hardware without needing decades of trial and error. This shift is huge. When a country can make its own AI chips.

Silicon Data Trust Idea: It is a national digital trust layer for India's semiconductor ecosystem. Its principle: nobody hands over their data, but everyone can prove their part of the story. 1. Data stays with its owner. 2. Only minimum necessary data is shared. 3. One common language. 4. Questions travel, data does not. 5. Privacy matched to sensitivity. 6. Tamper-proof record. AI on Top: Once the data is connected, AI can do what is impossible today: 1. Anomaly detection 2. Graph intelligence 3. Explainable risk scores Regulatory Portal: A regulator enters a chip or lot ID and sees origin, route, jurisdictions, compliance status, and risk score. No company's raw data is exposed. Built-In Sustainability: The same network carries energy, water, and renewable-share data per batch. OEMs get verified Scope 3 numbers and fabs can contribute to benchmarks without revealing production volumes. Impact: Government gets visibility and Industry gets low compliance cost.

India can strengthen AI semiconductor R&D by developing an open, programmable edge-AI accelerator platform based on RISC-V and a domain-specific NPU. The referenced project already demonstrates an INT8 8×8 systolic-array accelerator, custom instruction set, RTL verification, and an RTL-to-GDSII flow on the SkyWater SKY130 open PDK, including DRC/LVS/timing signoff. The next phase is to extend this foundation with a RISC-V control core, memory-mapped accelerator, efficient data movement, and a compiler/runtime path from PyTorch/ONNX to NPU instructions. Such an open hardware-software platform could provide universities, startups and researchers with a practical environment for AI-chip architecture, verification and physical-design research, while enabling exploration of low-power edge AI for healthcare, agriculture, robotics and industrial applications.

Happy Birthday Sir, 1) Like Nordic countries, we need to remove cheque payments from the banking system. Instead, we need to keep only demand drafts and online payments. This will reduce the workload in the banking system by 30%. It will also avoid fraud transactions and cheque bouncing. Overall, it will reduce corruption in India. Hope the government will implement this soon. 2) We need to start precast construction for all residential buildings. 3) Our own Jet Engine. 4) POK aquasation. 5) Fast-track program for EVs and charging stations across the country. 6) Own satellite internet.

The convergence of Artificial Intelligence and semiconductors is pivotal for achieving technological sovereignty and self-reliance. To maximize this synergy, India should focus heavily on designing AI-optimized edge computing chips, specialized neural processing units (NPUs), and low-power semiconductors tailored for local challenges in agriculture, smart mobility, and healthcare. Strengthening domestic fabless design startups through accessible EDA tools, open-source architectures like RISC-V, and targeted R&D grants will accelerate innovation. Simultaneously, integrating industry-aligned VLSI and AI hardware curriculum in universities, backed by hands-on fabrication exposure, will build the specialized talent pipeline needed to establish India as a global design and manufacturing powerhouse.

I think AI and semiconductors will play a very important role in India’s future technology growth. AI needs better and faster computing, while semiconductor technology is the base for building those systems. There is also a lot of scope for innovation in areas like AI chips, edge computing, smart devices, healthcare, agriculture and electric vehicles. I feel India should focus more on practical learning, research and giving students access to labs and industry projects. This can help more students understand semiconductor technology and build careers in this field. As an MCA student interested in AI and technology, I believe the combination of AI skills and semiconductor knowledge can create many new opportunities for students and young developers in the coming years.

Title: AI-Powered Smart Manufacturing for Indian MSMEs Submitted by: Sajan kumar Pandit India has a large number of MSMEs working in manufacturing, engineering, automotive, fabrication and mechanical design. I believe Artificial Intelligence can play an important role in making these industries more efficient, affordable and competitive. I suggest developing an AI-powered Smart Manufacturing platform for Indian MSMEs. This platform could assist engineers and designers in CAD design, material selection, weight optimization and manufacturing planning. AI could analyse a 3D CAD model and identify possible manufacturing problems before production, such as difficult-to-fabricate features, unnecessary material usage or potential assembly issues. AI-based camera inspection systems could also be used to detect defects in manufactured components. Machine data could be analysed to predict maintenance requirements and reduce unexpected machine downtime.
