One Village, One Watershed Restoration Plan Restore degraded watersheds through contour trenches, vegetative barriers, bund strengthening, check dams and revival of traditional tanks. Prioritise upstream runoff control to improve downstream water availability and reduce soil erosion. Involve local communities in planning, maintenance and monitoring. Use suitable public employment programmes to support labour-intensive restoration, with transparent records of structures completed and their actual water-conservation benefits. Groundwater Budgeting and Borewell Protection Map functioning borewells, record water levels and monitor extraction in vulnerable villages. Develop community agreements to discourage excessive pumping and prioritise drinking water and critical crop irrigation during severe shortages. Promote recharge structures where hydrogeologically appropriate and prevent contamination around wells.

El Niño-Resilient Crop Planning Prepare village-specific crop plans based on seasonal forecasts, soil moisture and local water availability. Promote suitable short-duration, drought-tolerant crops and varieties instead of encouraging farmers to plant water-demanding crops without reliable irrigation. In drought-prone Rayalaseema, suitable options may include millets, pulses and selected oilseeds, depending on the local season and conditions. Provide farmers with crop-choice guidance before seed purchases and sowing. Soil Moisture Bank Through Mulching Launch a community mulching programme using crop residues, dry leaves and other safe organic materials. Cover exposed soil around crops to reduce evaporation, moderate soil temperature and suppress weeds. Where suitable, promote locally affordable organic or biodegradable mulches. Train farmers on appropriate mulch thickness and pest management.

Measures during Super El-Nino times to protect our Farming- Smart Rainwater Harvesting on Every Farm Promote farm ponds, contour bunds, graded channels, percolation pits and recharge trenches according to local soil, slope and geology. Provide targeted subsidies and technical support to small and marginal farmers. Harvest intense rainfall whenever it occurs, reduce runoff and improve groundwater recharge. Link farm-level structures with village watershed programmes so that rainwater is conserved across the entire landscape rather than through isolated projects. Micro-Irrigation First Policy Expand drip irrigation and sprinkler systems, prioritising drought-prone farms and water-intensive crops. Combine micro-irrigation with soil-moisture sensors, mulching and scheduled irrigation to avoid unnecessary water loss. Provide maintenance services and practical demonstrations, not merely installation subsidies. E

Super El Niño conditions can increase the risk of heatwaves, rainfall deficits, droughts and agricultural losses in vulnerable regions. For drought-prone areas such as Anantapuramu and other parts of Rayalaseema, the priority should be to conserve every drop of water, reduce crop losses, diversify farm incomes and provide timely support to farmers. Every Village, a Water Security Mission Establish a village-level Water Security Mission to map borewells, farm ponds, tanks, check dams and groundwater levels. Prepare a village water budget before each cropping season, estimating available water and prioritising drinking water, livestock and essential irrigation. Use local volunteers and agricultural officers to update water availability regularly and guide farmers on feasible crop choices.

Hearty congrats to Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modiji for completing 25 years of public service. During this tenure the Government under your leadership has launched several welfare programs like Jan Dham Yojana bank accounts and cooking gas to tap water, housing, Ayushman Bharat healthcare and direct income support for farmers. Taken together, these programmes illustrate the broad areas in which the NDA government’s flagship welfare and development agenda has operated: financial inclusion, sanitation, cooking fuel, housing, healthcare, water, farmer support, digital infrastructure, small-business credit and manufacturing. Best of luck to you sir and for continuing more welfare schemes for the needy people in all important sectors. There is need to curtail the increasing medical expenses, kindly explore the possibility for reducing major diseases like cancer, liver disease and chronic kidney disease including dialysis

Respected Prime Minister, Namaste, I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. Through Mann Ki Baat, you have inspired millions across our nation to unite under the vision of Aatma nirbhar Bharat and celebrate the transformative power of the Make in India movement. To further amplify this national dialogue and promote homegrown innovation, I would like to suggest considering Jocial as a platform for public engagement for your upcoming editions of Mann Ki Baat. Leveraging platforms like Jocial(www.Jocial.org/download) can advance our shared vision in several key ways: Promoting Indian Innovation: Utilizing indigenous platforms directly aligns with the spirit of Make in India and highlights domestic digital solutions. Hyper-Local & Grassroots Voices: Empower local communities, innovators, and micro-entrepreneurs across regions to share their stories of self-reliance (Aatma nirbhar) and local achievements. Thank you, Ram kumar www.Jocial.org/download

The decision to use radio over television or internet-first streams was a calculated sociological choice. While the digital revolution has swept through urban India, a stark digital divide persists in rural, tribal, and economically marginalized pockets. Radio requires no high-speed data plans, smartphone literacy, or expensive hardware. By airing on All India Radio (Akashvani) and broadcasting in dozens of regional languages and dialects, Mann Ki Baat democratized access to the Prime Minister’s voice. Radio inherently possesses a unique psychological characteristic: intimacy. The lack of visual distractions forces a focused engagement, transforming a mass broadcast into what feels like a personal, kitchen-table conversation. This faux-intimacy is the bedrock upon which trust, and subsequently behavioral change, is engineered.
