Faridabad Smart City Limited conducted a concept design competition for (1) Street: street connecting old Faridabad railway station to old Faridabad metro station (2) Lake front Development: Bhadkal Lake (3) Parks & water body: Barahi Talab Area.

Continuing with preparing the Patna Smart City proposal, analysis of key concerns expressed through various interactions are summarized as – “Citizens of Patna opine to co-create and preserve their rich heritage through behaviorally transforming and modernizing their vibrant capital city in all respects offering improved quality of life, improved governance, inclusivity and seamless mobility.”

Challenge simply means selection of cities through a competition. This is a paradigm shift from the earlier selection method in which a formula (e.g. city size) was used for selection.

The participatory approach in smart city proposal considers the comments of MOUD’s, response from the citizens and expert opinion from various departments, resulting into a smart proposal for the city.
