Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme aims to bring about equality and empower our girls by combating against deep rooted socio-cultural biases and gender discrimination over a life cycle continuum. The Scheme is running in its 6th year of its implementation on ground. During these periods, the States/UTs/Districts have undertaken several innovative initiatives to address the issue of declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and promote value of girl child. The collective and coordinated efforts undertaken at National, State and Districts level resulted in placing this issue in the public discourse.
On 11th October has been marked as the International Day of the Girl. The day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges faced, while promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their rights.

In the spirit of celebrating International Day of the Girl Child, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India is organizing a Online Real life story-sharing contest in the field of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.

The concept of this campaign is to promote the value of Girl Child by sharing stories about real life in the field of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. The story having a long lasting impact and consequently led to a change in the mindset in the community at large need to be shared.

The objective of the contest is to engage with larger audience and to generate awareness on the issue of declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and create a positive environment for valuing the girl child. This also creates an opportunity for open conversations against gender discrimination, inequality and dis empowerment, which in turn leads to a positive mindset change in the society.

The last date of submission is 30th September, 2020.
