A chance to meet some of the top women leaders in science from India and abroad, grass root innovators awaits you at the Women Scientists’ and Entrepreneurs’ Conclave of the India International Science Festival (IISF) at Kolkata. The third edition of women scientists’ conclave to be organized on November 7 and 8, 2019 at Biswa Bangla Convention Center is an effort to inspire young women to take up careers in Science, Technology and Entrepreneurship and help them get exposed to opportunities in the field. It celebrates women in science and also paves a way for more women to be part of a larger scientific community.

Total 113476 entries were received in the Quiz Competition.

The district of West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh has adopted a number of best practices such as mulching, adopting of traditional rice cropping methods (System of Rice Intensification (SRI) cultivation) and micro irrigation to ensure water use efficiency.

One of the mandates of the Ministry of AYUSH is the promotion of the different AYUSH systems of medicine over different geographies and across different populations. The Ministry has decided to induct Telemedicine as one of the ways to achieve this goal. The Ministry, on Friday (25 October 2019), signed an MoU with M/s CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle set up by the Ministry of Electronics & IT for promoting e-Governance, to launch a pilot project of Telemedicine in the Siddha system of healthcare.

Sakshi Yadav, an eleven year old school girl from Meedhiki village in Magardha Gram Panchayat of Jabalpur district in Madhya Pradesh had heard about the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen (SBM-G) campaign both on radio and on television. She was convinced about the need to practice safe sanitation and the need to use toilets. So when the Gram Pradhan, Roop Ram Sena asked her if she had a toilet at home, she was embarrassed and ashamed and decided to do something about it.

Aligarh Development Authority (ADA) in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh is setting up a modular roof top rain water harvesting (RWH) unit atop the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Aligarh Division.  From water shortage to water abundance, the system will also enhance water quality and provide unlimited water storage capacity.

Bhojpur district of Bihar has come out with a comic book for students of classes 1-5 titled ‘Swachh Aadtein Kitab’ to inculcate hygienic behaviour among children from their formative years. The book which contains a 21-day programme on various sanitation aspects comes with a tracker that helps measure progress.
