The Income Tax Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov, invites innovative ideas and constructive suggestions from citizens, taxpayers, professionals, businesses, students, and other stakeholders to strengthen taxpayer services and contribute towards building a more transparent, efficient, and taxpayer-friendly tax administration. This participatory initiative provides a platform to share practical ideas for enhancing taxpayer awareness, simplifying compliance processes, improving digital taxpayer services, and promoting ease of compliance.

Suggestions may also focus on strengthening service delivery, leveraging emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), improving grievance redressal mechanisms, enhancing taxpayer education and outreach, and introducing innovative solutions to improve the overall taxpayer experience. Your valuable ideas will contribute towards making tax administration more accessible, technology-driven, citizen-centric, and responsive, while supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through better public service delivery, participatory governance, and greater taxpayer trust.

Taxpayer First: Building a Simple, Transparent and Digital Tax System A taxpayer-friendly system should make paying taxes simple, quick, and transparent. Every taxpayer should be able to understand tax rules without needing expert assistance. The government can achieve this by using technology and citizen-centric services. Some useful improvements include: Introduce an AI-powered multilingual assistant to answer tax-related questions 24×7 in all major Indian languages. Pre-fill tax returns using verified financial data to reduce errors and save time. Provide real-time status tracking for refunds, similar to parcel tracking. Offer short video tutorials and interactive guides for first-time taxpayers. Create a single dashboard where taxpayers can view payments, notices, refunds, and pending actions. Reward honest and timely taxpayers with digital appreciation certificates or small service benefits. Strengthen data security and privacy to build trust in digital tax services.

A taxpayer-friendly system should be simple, transparent, and fully digital. Tax filing should be easier with pre-filled forms and clear guidance for individuals and small businesses. Faster processing of refunds, quick grievance redressal, and 24×7 multilingual support will improve taxpayer satisfaction. Awareness programs should educate citizens about tax compliance and financial literacy. Honest taxpayers can be encouraged through recognition, simplified procedures, and better digital services. These measures will strengthen trust, improve voluntary tax compliance, and contribute to India's economic growth.
