The Income Tax Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov, invites innovative ideas and constructive suggestions from citizens, taxpayers, professionals, businesses, students, and other stakeholders to strengthen taxpayer services and contribute towards building a more transparent, efficient, and taxpayer-friendly tax administration. This participatory initiative provides a platform to share practical ideas for enhancing taxpayer awareness, simplifying compliance processes, improving digital taxpayer services, and promoting ease of compliance.

Suggestions may also focus on strengthening service delivery, leveraging emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), improving grievance redressal mechanisms, enhancing taxpayer education and outreach, and introducing innovative solutions to improve the overall taxpayer experience. Your valuable ideas will contribute towards making tax administration more accessible, technology-driven, citizen-centric, and responsive, while supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through better public service delivery, participatory governance, and greater taxpayer trust.

A taxpayer-friendly nation is built through trust, transparency, and technology. The future of tax administration must place the taxpayer at its heart by making every interaction simple, secure, and accessible. Artificial Intelligence can provide multilingual virtual assistants, personalized compliance reminders, instant error detection, and real-time guidance, transforming taxation into a seamless experience. A unified digital platform with proactive grievance resolution, transparent application tracking, and paperless services can eliminate delays while strengthening public confidence. Taxpayer education through schools, colleges, and digital campaigns can cultivate financial responsibility. When citizens understand how taxes create better roads, hospitals, education, and national security, compliance becomes pride. A tax system that listens and evolves will inspire participation, strengthen governance, and accelerate India's journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047, where taxpayers matter

My only submission is for the salaried class who during their service pay their all income tax dues which they can not hide on a regular basis. But when they retire they entirely depend on their SWP payment from their mutual fund investment. Hence these payments to retired class should be exempt from Income Tax as most of these retirees do not have any regular pension .

Respected All, My suggestion is to make the Income Tax system simpler, faster, and more user-friendly for every citizen. AI can guide taxpayers while filing returns, explain tax rules in simple language, and help identify common mistakes before submission. A 24×7 AI chatbot in regional languages would help first-time taxpayers and senior citizens. The Income Tax portal should have a simple dashboard showing refund status, pending actions, notices, and important deadlines in one place. Grievances should be resolved within a fixed timeline with real-time status updates. More awareness programs should be conducted through schools, colleges, and social media to improve financial literacy and encourage timely tax filing. Recognizing honest taxpayers can also encourage voluntary tax compliance. These initiatives will make tax services more transparent, citizen-friendly, and technology-driven, supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

I appreciate the Government of India for giving citizens an opportunity to share their suggestions. My suggestion is to introduce an AI-powered Tax Assistant on the Income Tax portal and mobile app. It should provide step-by-step guidance in simple language, support regional languages, automatically identify eligible deductions, detect filing errors before submission, and offer 24×7 assistance. The department can also improve grievance redressal by providing real-time status updates and faster resolution. These improvements will make tax filing easier, increase taxpayer awareness, improve compliance, and build greater trust in the tax administration, supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The biggest problem in India’s tax system is not just complexity, but fear and confusion, especially for first-time and young taxpayers. To solve this, the Income Tax Department should focus on making tax-paying feel simple, helpful, and transparent. First, the system should act like a guide, not a form—using AI to create a step-by-step assistant that explains everything in simple language, suggests deductions, and automatically fills most details by linking with Aadhaar and other verified data. Instead of long and confusing forms, taxpayers should see a clean dashboard showing income, tax amount, savings options, and refund status in one place. To build trust, the system should clearly show “where your tax is used” through simple visuals, so people feel their contribution matters. A fixed-time grievance system should be introduced where complaints are resolved quickly, with real-time tracking and human support when needed.

Ideas for the Future Taxpayers In the future, the tax system should become more simple, easy to understand, and helpful for everyone. Many people still find taxes confusing, so the first idea is to make the whole process more user-friendly. The government can create simple apps and websites where taxpayers can easily file returns with step-by-step guidance in simple language. Another important idea is to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help taxpayers. AI chatbots can answer questions anytime, guide people while filling forms, and even suggest possible deductions. This will save time and reduce mistakes. The government can also improve awareness by teaching basic tax knowledge in schools and colleges. If students learn about taxes early, they will become responsible taxpayers in the future.

India can improve its tax structure like European union. India can adopt best practices in income tax in Europe.

Taxpayer : National Tax Innovation Wallet India can introduce a National Tax Innovation Wallet—a secure digital account within the Income Tax portal that rewards honest compliance with Tax Credits, not cash. These credits can be earned for timely filing, voluntary corrections, financial literacy certification, digital payments, and participation in tax awareness programs. Credits could unlock priority government services, reduced documentation for selected public services, free tax-learning courses, and recognition as a Trusted Taxpayer. would act as a preventive guide by identifying possible filing mistakes before submission, while a "What Changed?" feature would explain every tax rule update in simple language and local languages. An anonymous taxpayer feedback engine should continuously improve policies based on real citizen experience this transforms encourage trust, transperency and responsibil citizen ship supporting vision vikasit bharat 2047 jai hind jai bharat my proud
