The Income Tax Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov, invites innovative ideas and constructive suggestions from citizens, taxpayers, professionals, businesses, students, and other stakeholders to strengthen taxpayer services and contribute towards building a more transparent, efficient, and taxpayer-friendly tax administration. This participatory initiative provides a platform to share practical ideas for enhancing taxpayer awareness, simplifying compliance processes, improving digital taxpayer services, and promoting ease of compliance.

Suggestions may also focus on strengthening service delivery, leveraging emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), improving grievance redressal mechanisms, enhancing taxpayer education and outreach, and introducing innovative solutions to improve the overall taxpayer experience. Your valuable ideas will contribute towards making tax administration more accessible, technology-driven, citizen-centric, and responsive, while supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through better public service delivery, participatory governance, and greater taxpayer trust.

India should follow USA Income Tax system (dual taxes- Federal income tax-IRS & State Taxes ), Central Govt income taxes should be lowered marginally, States also should be enabled to levy income taxes at levels higher than central income tax rates, 50% of state income taxes to be utilised for (1) unemployment wages to persons below 60 age and (2) Pension for aged 60 or above, balance 50% goes to state revenue kitty, this goes to reduce reliance on Borrowed funds by State Govt to a substantial extent. The Federal IRS tax is covered for tax credit under DTAA and US state taxes are not covered under DTAA for tax credit, same methodology India can follow for DTAA purposes, Why not if this improves state revenue and reduces state borrowings presently out of control in almost all the states.??

      1. Real-Time, "Invisible" Taxation In the future, the annual tradition of filing tax returns could disappear completely. Instead, taxation might become a seamless, real-time background process powered by blockchain and artificial intelligence. 2. The Carbon and Resource Tax Shift As climate change becomes a larger focus, governments might shift away from taxing income (what you earn) and heavily pivot toward taxing consumption and impact (what you use). 3. AI-Managed "Faceless" Tax Systems We are already seeing the beginnings of this in countries like India, but the future could see AI entirely replacing human tax auditors. 4. The Two-Way Tax System (Integrated UBI) In a highly automated future where AI and robotics handle most jobs, the tax system might evolve into a dynamic wealth-distribution network centered around Universal Basic Income (UBI).

If someone provides their PAN while making an 80G-eligible donation, the details should automatically sync to their AIS and pre-fill directly into Schedule 80G of their ITR just like TDS or dividend entries. This simple auto-linking would save taxpayers from tedious manual data entry and hunting for 10BE certificates, while making the charities and social work , more encouraging.
