Swaachh Bharat Abhiyan needs infrastructure, human resources, garbage pickup and dumping plan. Only people's will might not be enough. Even if one cleans the garbage, in most of the towns its not known where to dump the garbage.
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is a National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated & funded by Department of Science and Technology, GOI. This program helps students to take up research careers in Science for best scientific minds for R&D in India. Considering huge numbers of shortfall of researchers & teachers, Government may consider increase in the numbers of intake of students through KVPY tests recently concluded.
Research can help to improve solar cells. It can remove dependency of outer countries for solar energy. Success of solar energy industries can help in providing sponsorship to research in this area.
I am from NIT Bhopal, and we don't have much projects to keep us involved. These institutes should take thousands of sensible as well as nonsence project and outsource and involve students from other colleges.
1.more institutional IIT and IISc visits by research students ,college students and RnD departments of various industries
2.more awareness and classes organised by these institution
3.start more research based courses in nano technology
4.increase the number of seats in all nano technology courses
5.start evening and part time courses in nanotechnology and increase the no. of seats and low course fees
Respected PM,
Nano Technology facitily may be extended for some more institutions in 30 NITs like NIT Jamshedpur where National Mettalurgical Laboratory also available for research in Mettulurgical wing ans some more NITs Like NIT Warangal. For super heater temparature raise for higher capacity steam boilers metalbearing temparature is the main constraint. Things will improve with Nano Technology .
Consortium projects could be launched by Central and State Governments and this could involve use of these facilities by industry free of charge. These equipment could be used as a training source for industry as the equipment is not available everywhere. As these are costly equipment industry may not be willing to let anyone use before getting proper training.
Have an online portal to list all the equipment available with their price and time. Industry needs to be able to register and book their time. Additional service can be in the form providing trained manpower to do the work in the lab. MSMEs could be given a set number of usage hours without price to encourage them to participate. Industry needs to be given priority in booking thus making industry to visit and engage with the institutes.
Pay Per Use program should be launched for Industry. Right now many of the industries are sending their samples to Japan and Germany for characterization. At the first level all the equipment needs to be operational and precision has to be maintained. This could be done by employing a company on contract than leaving it to the research students.
Some years ago I had read that IIT mumbai had come out with a solution of substituting tar put on road with a material made out of non-recyclable plastic. If it can be verified & if true used in the roads of Mumbai. The life expectancy/performance of the material was for 10years. If such infrastructure related solutions/substitute can be provided by the intellectual pool in IIT India can be benefited.
