Why we can't use some other fuel instead of petrol and diesel? Or why we can't use solar/electric vehicles instead of our diesel or petrol vehicles. government must promote solar/electric/methanol or some other techniques instead of petrol and diesel. If we can work out these ideas there will be a big results in both government and public. as well as at least in india we have to make petrol pipe lines instead of wasting time and fuel to carry petrol and diesel in tanger lorries.
9. Keresene: Please stop it from PDS and replace Kerosene lamps with solar lamps under full subsidy.
Kerosene stoves should be replaced with fully subsidized Gas connection. I think we have enough data on how many consumers are there who use Kerosene lamps and Kerosene stoves.
The problem is with distributor in remote location should be resolved by specialized distributor mechanism.
So we need to replace Kerosene lamps with Solar Lamps and Kerosene stoves with Gas Stoves. ThanQ
7. Considering the 4,5,6 points my survey reveled that more than 13000000 is looted from the peoples pocket per year by 4 distributors in my area. This can be stopped only by regular publicizing the prices in local paper, and taking stove out of distributors or making payments through other mechanisms for Gas delivery, new connection etc.
8. One crore 30 lakh black money is being generated by looting public by 4 distributors, just imagine how much black money is being generated all over India.
5. New Connection..The Distributor are selling Gas stoves without any receipt at high price (2000Rs), when we have many stoves available for 1000 Rs in market.
6. Subsidized new connection for BPL is sold at a price of 3000. 2000 for stove 450 for refill. BPL people can buy stove for 1000 out side. So virtually BPL need to pay only 450 Rs to get a new connection under subsidy.
but no Publicity for this again.
4.Besides this the Distributors are charging heavy amounts for DoorDelivery ranging from 25 to 100 Rs. In Free delivery zone the fee should be zero and beyond free delivery zone max 15 Rs. But due to lack of awareness and fear of Distributor not giving cylinder customers are paying this amount.
You can check with Kunoor Bharat gas, how many complaints i have given, but today they have not taken any action.
All costs, toll free number and complaint procedure must be widely publicized.
3. Citizen eccentric vigilance mechanism should be promoted with Huge Incentives for using subsidized cylinders in commercial establishments.
Like Money, free cylinders to the citizen who informs about the usage. The fine should be on the Commercial establishment and the Distributor.
1. Gas:
PAHAL is a wonderful initiative: Govt should incentivise to Join PAHAL and the Incentive should be WIDELY PUBLICIZED.
2. Reduce The no.of Cylinders for free usage. Some greedy customers are selling their extra cylinders in OPEN Market. In my Village average usage is 4 cylinders only.
So 6 to 9 Cylinders is more than enough for large no. customers. I think Even Govt has data regarding the same, which says more than 90 percent use only 6 or less cylinders.
2. I agree with Asit's observation and as out Hon PM did while he was CM in Gujarat, lets develop large solar parks in lands that are not fit for Agriculture. Let's set up wind mills in windy areas and Hydro Plants and areas with abundant water supply. This would mean clean electricity and we can help these areas by Electric stove. Bio-gas as also a solution to put all the waste that the country produces to a constructive use.
Hello Sir/Madam,
I really appreciate you putting out this topic in public domain for discussion. I would like to suggest the following steps to educate and motivate people to give up on their subsidies for LPG.
1. With the help of the Census data and Income Tax teams lets compile a data of all those citizens who qualify as people who earn well enough to afford the subsidies. We can reach out to them and educate them to let go of their gas subsidies and request them to help the government.
IN villages having soler lighting and bio gas for cooking, the quota of subsidised kerosene through the public distribution system should be reduced by 70 percent. Subsidy on LPG should be removed for residents in areas where biogas or piped gas is available. It will encourage people to switch over from LPG to other sources like natural gas and bio gas.
