Wide shaded streetscapes, porous urban fabric with no compound walls, significant green areas and pedestrian friendly environment are few of the simple yet fundamental principles that GIFT has successfully attempted. Smart city efforts would be meaningful only with these principles in place.

GIFT Smart city proposal has already been covered all the smart city features, which are really required for any city to become SMART City. however, some suggestions are in mind which may be considered:
1) People - Smart cities are all about Citizen. How people live, work and interact/engage in the cities. So Smart cities need to address the issues of user. Creating livable spaces. 2)Energy security - Cities consume huge energy. A Smart city should be energy efficient and have equity.

GIFT CITY is the 1st SMART City of India...it is 1st Operational SMART City of India. The state-of-the-art Infrastructure, Integrated Urban development and Green Design principles make GIFT City a unique destination. It will be hub for direct & indirect employment generation.
