Energy efficient electric and non-electric devices should be graded and approved by ISI. Then these can be sold by the gas/petrol companies, particularly PSUs, through their distributors. Subsidies to be given as per their grade of efficiency directly to consumers using Adhaar numbers and the linked banks. Once the consumption of these products increases, the cost of production will come down and then these subsidies can be reduced This will also improve the revenues of oil companies.

Target LED Adoption of 40% in next 3 years. Replace Existing Lighting in Government Offices with LED starting from Central Govt / State Govt offices in Metros and Cities. Encourage Pvt. Sector (starting with Big Companies) to follow same path and migrate to LED. Make it compulsory for Builders to install LED in new homes / provide incentive for that to builders. Replace all street lights with LED in next 3 years in phased manner. Similar approach for Schools, Hospitals etc.
