We should also consider other mammals as part of the Natural consumption process. This will give rise to more kinds of Markets. There is a Cow for every Plant & Both can be used to contribute for a Healthy lifestyle. There is no dearth / shortage for hunger. Fertilizers may boom more cheaper.
If we make The ones less sold / brought - Genetically more sweet Or nutritious - it will all be in demand of the farmers Himself. !!

I Understand Naturally that there is a Foodchain. In this case I feel we have concerns about harvests only as a part of our Diet as one cause. Farmers must be given dues on the tons of harvest- Sold or Unsold. Population Census & Genetic study will also help. I think if we diversify & distinguish the crops with regional characteristics I may boost demand & sold quickly. AND still some residue can be given back to Cattle rearing farmers. None likes to have an Euthanized drought hit for Lunch. !!

Today the onus of selling and taking care of the fruits and vegetables lies on the farmer he has to take it to mandi(middlemen) sell it then mandi will sell it further then the retailer takes the ownership. I sud sugggest that instead of farmer going to mandi the retailer should go to farmer directly and take responsibility of the crop post harvest itself and the retailer should have robust infrastructure in terms of cleaning transportation packaging coldstorage. Integrated ssupply chain is reqd

We do not yet know the long term effects of radiation on food we eat hence foods we are must be kept out of the purview of Gamma Ray Irradiation. We have enough trouble with GM crops. We should neither court problems nor create trouble for our future generation. GM food, Climate change, deforestation, depletion of natural resources ...etc are some of the worst problems being passed on to future generation.

DEAR PM, NEARLY 1/3rd of total production of fruits and vegetables get wasted..I suggest that create a separate agencies/dealer in major markets..through these catogires the grade[A,B] of vegetables likewise if veg is in good condition it send to near by orphanages and other waste are used as a FERTILISER..

Sir, we shud have multi pronged approach to reduce the losses. Se shud make all weather good roads in all villages, grant loans to farmers to buy vehicles for transportation of goods to markets, remove embargoes on trading and any one shud be allowed to purchase directly from farmers, increase number of cold storages, aggressive marketing and exporting/air freighting of vegetables and food grains to SAARC and gulf countries should be done. Regards

not every thing can be solved by building cold store, but the transmission system has to be quick and responsive .Seeds used for sowing vegetable should be of high quality so that it can resist post diseases caused in plant due to insects by that way vegetables will be afresh for long time and farmer is able to transport them upto their suitability.Israel is the best example of that

The vegetable get perish as it has life time of its own. the reason being not having coldstorage or not reaching destination in time.
i suggest 1. Trains can help bridge the gap- the main districts can be connected with only "vegitable trains" stping at main producer "tahsils" so vegetable can cross 2 or more districts which they cant now. 2. the cold storage gets 85% subcidy and very good source of corruption and malpractice. no goverment official guids or inform about existing cold storages.
