for stopping ticket booking by unauthorized persons bokers. Stop printing facility of E ticket at All. Only mobile message will serve as e ticket. E ticket can only be issued within from any account for only maximum 5 registered mobile numbers in a family or friend circle. If the ticket is being cancelled the Refund payment should be passenger aadhar verified account. Not to the account from where it was purchased.Either no cancellaton money should be paid from window .
Aadhaar number of each passenger should be made mandatory from next year for ticket booking and the TTE in the train should be provided with a hand held device to check the genuineness of the each passenger based on the detail of aadhaar card provided at the time of booking(the aadhaar detail of passenger need to be confirmed by TTE from UIDAI site).This will prevent agent from misusing reservation system and in preventing fraud due to fake ids.
In addition, the tickets be priced bit higher side to generate additional revenue. I as a customer will not mind paying a bit higher train ticket than the regular fare as it will be much cheaper compared to private bus.
on majority of trains, tickets are in high demand during weekends, during festivals, holidays. I suggest that during weekends, coaches be added to cater to the specific high demands on friday, saturday & sunday.

railway ne ek bahut badiya suvidha de rakhi hai jiska naam hai "tatkaal ticket" lekin yeh suvidha ka upyog kaun karta hai? sabse jyada ticket dalal....aaye din khabar aati rehti hai ki iss station par police ne karyawahi ki or paanch ticket dalal ko pakda..... pakdne tak to theek hai lekin aage kya hua koi khabar nahi.... wo hi ticket dalal do din baad phir ticket counter par mil jata hai or ticket black karta hai. mera nivedan hai ki rail mantralay aise logo par rok lagaye
Some organised gangs are active in duping the railways. They book the ticket, take money + some premium from passenger and give him printout of ticket. Once charting is done, they cancell the ticket using TDR Process. They realise 50% refund but passenger as well as railways both are cheated. Waitlisted passenger do not get any update against berth becomming available after TDR filing
SMS alert should reach next eligible waitlisted passenger to confirm details of seat allotment to him
We have to think over our transport system again. By properly synchronizing all types of existing transport facility and minimum stand off time the system can run 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Machines does not require rest but proper maintenance only as of humans and animals. Transport vehicles must always on the go . railway can also maintain their own goods road transport fleet. Space they have staff they can employee and the goods to transport they have. It means that 70% of the infrastructure they already have built in. The transport fleet can be useful at the time of disaster and railroko agitations.
Since the rail tickets are available online. Railway may also introduce bus service from the places not connected with rail to nearest rail head. Tickets from that place can be purchased online via nearest rail head. In this way railway can employee more staff give better service and improve connectivity.
Many people look at erail.in portal for ticket availability and then book on the IRCTC portal. Why can't IRCTC portal be designed like the erail.in portal?
