Sir, our urban bodies are not capable of this vision and solution. They are grappling to pay salaries to their employees. Sir, I am 1985 IAS officer, resigned in 2006 to pursue my passion in waste management and I posses practical knowledge on way forward for India – currently involved in 40 waste management plants in India.
Ravi Kant - Post 05
We have only one ‘Waste to Energy’ plant in India – at Delhi, which may stop functioning owing to financial viability. Today China has 160 operational ‘Waste to Energy’ plants and another 150 are in various stages of construction. These are in public – private partnership mode. Waste management is 24x7 service and it can be effectively and efficiently done by private sector only.
Ravi Kant - Post 04
The best option is disposal of municipal waste by incineration (scientific burning) to produce electric power. With this disposal path only 10% of ash produced needs to be disposed off in landfill and as a by-product we get much need power. 75 tons of waste will produce 1 MW of power.
Ravi Kant - Post 03
Sir, India produces 1.6 lakh tons of municipal waste every day. The composting of waste is a good idea but it is workable in small cities only. 100 tons of municipal waste will produce only 8 tons of compost and at least 40 tons of reject waste will have to be disposed off in sanitary landfill. Where is the land to do this disposal ?
Ravi Kant - Post 02
In your last address on 02.11.14 you started with waste cleaning and waste disposal – wherein you advised urban local bodies to dispose the mountains of waste, which are today polluting our air, water & soil and causing disease & other hazards. The problem lies with our urban local bodies themselves. Despite law, “Municipal Solid Waste, Management & Handling Rules 2000”, only 10% of India’s municipal waste is scientifically disposed today.

Majority of expense spent by India in Millitary with a population of 200 million for tackling Pakistan which has a population of only 1.2 billion.
• The military expenditure of Pakistan is 23.1 percent of all its yearly expenditures.
• In India, military spending is 18.6 percent of its total spending
• It is estimated that India will spend $150 billion (Rs 7,50,000 crore
4. Higher denomination notes should be withdrawn after financial inclusion has occurred. This enables a smooth transition. The logic is that if higher denomination notes are withdrawn, people will increasingly resort to banks for financial transaction as it will be easier than carrying a bunch of notes of lower denominations. This will reduce black money and lead to more financial inclusion.
All transactions above 10 lacs to be routed through bank/electronic cards.
