In public places like Airports, Rly station, Stadiums, Theatres etc. where public have to wait to get their turn. Waiting in public places like this, where one cannot do much, make them physically and mentally tired. A cheaper and viable solution is to engage young differently-abled people to provide services to people in waiting in an organized manner through a NGO. It will help D-abled people to earn and the same time people will get affordable services at their door steps at public places.

The Government should issue directive to manufacturers of consumers good and service providers that while designing the product or the service, special care be taken to keep in mind the elderly or differently-abled people. It will help the elderly/differently-abled people to use the products/services but at the same time it will increase the brand image of the product/services. a small change/improvement in the product/service can make it a big advantage to elderly/differently-abled people.

Continuation to my previous posts I am sharing a video.. How using a simple ramp, handicapped person can easily get into public bus. I live in Detroit, Michigan, USA where almost all public buses are handicapped friendly. Not Detroit, everywhere in US public transports are like this, strictly abide by regulations. Even there are reduced bus fares/train fares for handicaps.

This is the example video of house which is handicapped friendly. Some of the ideas from this video are possible to implement in Public Infrastructures like police stations, municipal offices, RTO etc. There should be suitable regulation in our country to have mandatory facilities for handicaps.

Hello PMO India, I have seen lack of easy access for differently-abled people in Public Transportation. Please encourage auto industry to research and develop vehicles which they can drive and they can enjoy freedom of mobility. There should be law/guidelines for each new infrastructure to be build to be accessible for them easily; it may be special parking slot, elevators, stairs, modified toilets. I believe; it is mandatory to have friendly facilities everywhere for differently-abled people.

My mom is differently abled, suffering from polio in her right leg. After 10 yrs v both trvld in train. Its appalling to realize that the Railway stations and trains are not disable friendly. She had great difficulty to board and get down from train. Also wen train starts frm a station, there is lot of jerk which made her fall down in the alley! It wud b grt if railways can bring in this sensitivity and design the trains and stations more disable friendly.

There seems to be a sea change in the view points of college goers nowadays regarding differently abled. I had the privilege of speaking to a group of college students about voiceofSAP that works for awareness creation among general public to make Government solve issues related to specially abled positively. The students were receptive, they had thought about the issue before and were ready to work in changing mindset of the public.

It is really unfortunate to see the Specially- abled children struggling in the schools. Most of the schools have no facilities to accommodate these children,if they are admitted schools fail to provide special educators to them which further results into complete neglect and frustration. It is essential that CBSE ensures of all the basic facilities for Specially abled and physically challenged students availability in the schools before granting affiliation.
