शिमला - एक छोटा पहाड़ी शहर जहाँ बहुत सैलानी आते हैं - एक विश्व स्तर का पर्यटक स्थल बनने का इच्छुक है। इस उद्देश्य की प्राप्ति के लिए, शहर को इसकी बुनियादी ढांचा सम्बन्धी चुनौतियों जैसे पानी की कमी, वाहनों की भीड़, और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण इसके खतरनाक भवनों को सुरक्षित बनाना आदि से निपटना होगा और अधिक पर्यटकों को आकर्षित करना जारी रखना होगा। एक परंपरागत अल्पकालिक समस्या केंद्रित दृष्टिकोण अपनाने के स्थान पर शहर स्मार्ट सिटी चैलेंज का उपयोग बड़े पैमाने पर शहरी पुनर्विकास, जल-लचीलापन और गतिशीलता सुधार सम्बन्धी प्रस्ताव बनाने के लिए करने की योजना बना रहा है।

स्मार्ट सिटी प्लान शिमला का गंतव्य अपने नागरिकों के बेहतर गुणवत्ता युक्त जीवन के लिए एक जीवंत, समावेशी, टिकाऊ और लचीला पर्यावरण सुनिश्चित करने के साथ-साथ अपनी "सांस्कृतिक, ऐतिहासिक और प्राकृतिक संपत्तियों को सहारा देने वाला" लचीला वैश्विक पर्यटन स्थल बनाना है।

वे महत्वपूर्ण रणनीतिक दिशात्मक प्रस्ताव जिन्होंने विस्तृत शहर प्रोफाइलिंग और नागरिक गठजोड़ के आधार पर दृष्टि और लक्ष्य निर्धारण में शहर का मार्गदर्शन किया है, निम्नलिखित हैं :

1. सभी चार आयामों अर्थात् स्वास्थ्य और तंदुरुस्ती, अर्थव्यवस्था और समाज, बुनियादी सुविधा और पर्यावरण और नेतृत्व और रणनीति, में शहर के लचीलापन सूचकांक में सुधार करना।
2. शहर की ऐतिहासिक और प्राकृतिक संपत्तियों को सहारा देना और पुनर्स्थापित करना।
3. परिसंपत्तियां और अवसर पैदा करने के लिए शहर की ताकत और कमजोरी का लाभ उठाना।

Smart City should have Smart building, Complex & Smart Infrastructure's. The electric power supply can be generated from Geothermal Power which is renewal energy from Earth Crest. All the flats should be connected with optic fiber & with internet connection & must be interlinked with each flat with video door camera. Waste should be collected by underground gas system. In respect to shimla smart city,I want to suggest that,Infrastructure development and Industrial development is very important,but, enviorment is also very important, pollution free atmosphere is very important for health of the people, hence, proper care should be taken to control the pollution,specially air and water pollution is great problem should be resolved,green revolution in city should be implemented by plantation programmes all over the city by NGO and other institution,best wishes

"Need to chance railway track pillar for reducing accident.
Replace cement pillar by plastic hard material.
( This plastic pillar may be stronger than cement pillar which can made by garbage like plastic , rubber carbon tube etc...)

Identify senik spot and reserve those spots for development, For food, Gift, shops should have standard size shops provided power water and sanitary arrangement. For tourist free sanitary arrangement with Baby cleaning arrangement, free Drinking water , All tourist spots should be provided with free potable water bottle filling spots. Tax water bottles to avoid pet bottles west. Isolet tourist places and residual market. All cunstrction shuld have minimum 10 to 15ft boundary clearance .

Pod taxis can be used extensively in Shimla as it is hilly. Will decrease road congestion.

Also multiple lifts instead of the single lift which is opersince yrs without proper management.

Ban on plastics which has ruined tourist spots.

Rain water/ snow water harvesting in each house.
