The State Transport Authority (STA), U.T., Chandigarh has initiated a citywide enforcement campaign against the illegal and pollution causing vehicles, especially diesel auto-rickshaws that had been plying in the city. This drive had been initiated in the entire city to take a firm step towards creating a pollution free environment in the city, keeping in mind the larger public health concerns of the residents.

As per the latest data submitted by the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), there has been a significant decline in the various pollutants including SPM, RSPM, SO2, and NOx in various places of Chandigarh being monitored by CPCC over the past two weeks, ever since the drive was started by the State Transport Authority.

Meanwhile, to facilitate passenger movement, Chandigarh Administration is also strengthening its public transport system, by increasing the number & frequency of buses of the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) and also enhancing their routes.

In view of this recent anti-pollution campaign of the State Transport Authority, Chandigarh Administration hereby invites citizens of Chandigarh to tell us what is their opinion about the banning of illegal and pollution causing diesel auto-rickshaws in Chandigarh. Further, suggestions/ideas are invited from the residents to help us ensure that a clean and pollution free air is provided in the City Beautiful.

Chd planned city.D public transport should b planned here.2 types of roads running here Horizontal, vertical. We can easily plan our public transport like local buses etc. that may run on horizontal and vertical roads only. It will save time of the commuters. Every body wants 2 save time but in Chd if you want 2 come 2 sec 7 frm ISBT Sec 43 will take about 40-50 mts 2 reach sec 7. Instead one hire three wheeler it wll take only 15-20mtThus many residents wll use buses instead of Auto or car etc

INSTALL LARGE SIZED EXHAUST FANS AT ALL ROAD JUNCTIONS TO SUCK THE DUST AND SMOKE, AND MAKE IT PASS THROUGH A SYSTEM OF FILTERS WHICH WOULD CLEAN IT AND RELEASE IT AS FRESH AIR.ATTACH A MECHANIZED WATER SPRINKLER WHICH SPRINKLES WATER INTO VERY TINY WATER DROPS WITH THE EXHAUST PIPE OF THE CARS AND OTHER LARGE VEHICLES. THIS WILL FILTER THE SMOKE AND REDUCE THE POLLUTION TO A GREAT EXTANT. BATTERY VEHICLES ALONE SHOULD BE PERMITTED INSIDE HOSPITALS GOVT.OFFICES/INSTITUTIONS.INTRODUCE CYCLE LANES

My suggestion on reducing pollution is we need to make sure all the vehicles are having a unique barcode assigned. All the mobile pollution check vehicles which are placed on the road side should test the vehicle pollution and it should immediately update the details into the RTO systems. If required we have developed a software for that which can send the details to the RTO office. So RTO wil inturn send this information to all the traffic police and they should stop the vehicle usage in city.

I listen to all your speeches and man ki bat every month. My name is Dr Anil Kumar Proag from MAURITIUS.

I have a suggestion for you for SWATCH BHARAT, KHADI UDYOG and JUTE industry.
YOU have to Ban plastic bags in India within 6 months to control pollution. Instead people can use khadi and jute bags, which will give lakhs of job to the poor to make and sell these bags. It will be MAKE IN INDIA and MADE IN INDIA.

firstly remove all the aged vehicles and stop registering new vehicles at least for one year and provide CNG city buses. every public transport like cars, autos should be filled with all seats( no empty seats). car should to allowed if it is filled with 4 passengers and its exceptional if children below 5 years are travelling
