Corporation of Chennai is preparing a proposal towards Smart City Challenge which would include city wide smart urban solutions as well as identification of areas within the city for its implementation.

The proposal would be defined primarily based on voice of Chennai residents. An extensive citizen engagement programme is established by Corporation of Chennai to document the views and concernsfor the same.

Residents may post their opinion and ideas on civic services such as transport, parking, water supply, sanitation, energy, housing, IT solutions, health, education, safety and security. Your views, opinion and solutions on urban issues faced by Chennai would not only support a better tomorrow for Chennaites, it will also make Chennai a strong contender for getting shortlisted as one of the first 20 cities in India to implement Smart City Solutions in Phase 1.

Chennai citizen and community is its biggest strength. Let’s participate to make this proposal inclusive and meaningful for every common man, every citizen.

The last date to submit your comments is 15th October, 2015.

Make north chennai properly connected with Metro rail with good freqency as North chennai is the old City and the population is more in North chennai. Trains will reduce the traffic and widening the roads will make it convenient for commuters and reduce accidents. Have proper roads and have it maintained well. Can think of proper traffic management. Create proper draining facility on the roads. create concrete roads and keep the respective department responsible to cover the digged place properl

Plan to connect more locations in chennai by train which will reduce the road traffic in the city. Widen the roads especially in North chennai where there is no improvements done.

Connect the OMR with train where we should have trains plying atleast upto Siruseri for now where we have more than 1 lakh people travel a day. This will reduce the traffic in the city and in OMR as people from many locations from the city travel daily to OMR. The train connectivity can further ply to mahabalipuram

1.Identify location and designate parking area across the city and allow parking only those places. chennaites have the habit to park right in front of the shop without considering the traffic implication and public nuisance.
2-Noise pollution. At every nook and corner sound systems are being played even 24hrs of the day creating noise pollution. suggest to restrict the timing & the volume.

I have following suggestion to improve our city life:
1. Remove all the garbage bins placed on the road side and appoint agency who collect door to door collection of garbage from residents/shops,which will address many issues like stench, mosquito menace, flies, street dogs & cattle etc from the road.
2.Mark separate lane for Heavy vehicles & Buses. Mark left side of the road exclusively for slow moving Vehicles & Buses. Counsel drivers to follow the rule and initiate penalty for violation.

2.To avoid the cars & Autos to travel within 2km,Use only two wheeler or by walk.Improve public transport system.
3.To maintain the road in the proper manner.During the raining season Stagnant water on the road ,it should be avoided
