Jaipur Municipal Corporation has received overwhelming response from its citizen in smart city suggestions and ideas to improve their city under Smart City Challenge.

As part of citizen engagement & consultation process (for preparation of Smart City Proposal) Jaipur Municipal Corporation organized a wide range of activities - e.g. Ward level consultations, Stakeholders Consultations, Blog writing competition, Logo making competition etc starting from 1stOct 2015 to 30th Nov 2015. Apart from this, other social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, Nagar nigam Website, Smart City Website) used to reach citizens.

Citizen interactions, expert opinions, and deliberations by departments have all contributed to developing this Smart City Proposal. Before the proposal is submitted to MoUD for its kind consideration, all citizens of the city are invited to give their feedback on the proposal developed.

There are many problems which needs to be addressed to make our city smart out of which my suggestions to make
Jaipur a smart city relates to traffic and waste disposal concerns as of now.

SAVE ELECTRICITY - STREET LIGHTS SHALL BE CONNECTED THROUGH TIMERS. DEPARTMENT SHOULD MAKE
PROPER CONNECTIONS OF WIRES AND FUSES.

We know our cities used septic tanks or open drains for sewage management. So instead of burying these drains, the aim
should be to treat sewage in these channels and to reuse the recycled water. Use the trajectory of the mobile phone; build
future solutions by skipping the landline.
So we can only build smart cities if we are smart. Really smart.
