Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has been selected through a competitive process for SMART City Mission initiative of Government of India. In the next phase, Coimbatore city has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities which will be taken up for the first round of funding, for the financial year 2015-16.

Citizens and stakeholders of Coimbatore are requested to post their views and suggestions on how to make Coimbatore a Smart one. The citizens may organize their thoughts on the following topics

1. What should be the Vision of the Coimbatore
2. Strengths, areas of improvement & solutions across the following sectors

a. City Spatial Structure, Transportation and Green Spaces
b. Energy, Water, Waste Water and Environment
c. Housing, Health, Education, Security, Law and Order
d. Citizen Engagement, Smart Solutions and IT-led service delivery

Dont burn plastics near corporation dustbins which produces pollution with hazardousgas please, and bring more garbage bins across coimbatore,try to take all the waste near corporation dustbins.reduce plastic production and try to ban it and increase corporation labours in numbers to make clean city #SmartCity #Coimbatore #MyGov

1.we construct and lay a poor quality roads in our city except Avinashi Road all other roads are damaged and need a repair work once in 3 years.the Roads which are in the Gandhi Maanagar,near V.O.C nagar Police quarters road and the roads from Ganapathy Maanagar to Codissia touching Avinashi road are terebly badly damaged. 2.widen the roads nearganapathy bus stand and buildings are constructed on roads!please value my points!THANKS IN ADVANCE

Complete the existing flyover works which was hanging long time near chinnayam palayam.

Remove the Athuppaalam toll gate as the contract is over.

Remove the encroachment in the city and bring metro train and LED lighting in all the places

Place Sky Walk in congested place and maintain the park as of now no proper maintanance.

Final and most important proper integrated bus stop with solar power utilization on roof top of bus stop.

Creating alternate road for the major places.

5. Traffic signals with proper timing counters should be fixed and solar plated.
6. street lights should be increased and solar plated for supply.
7. Proper parking buildings can be constructed in important roads.
8. Speed trap camera's should be attached to check the speed of vehicles.
9. new patrol vehicles can be provided to the police.
10. waste management can be done properly.
11. 24/7 water and EB supply can be made all over the district.
12. proper Walking space for ppl.

An overall view about Coimbatore Smart City project
1. Proper Roads should be laid and it should have a proper finish in the ends with reflectors and lane dividers.
2. Collections of sand and other waste in the road sides must be collected periodically.
3. Public transportation like buses should be maintained and can increase the count of the buses. Local trains like electric train and metro trains projects can be implemented.
4. planting of trees can be planted to make CBE as garden city.
