The food safety department of Lucknow must crack down heavily on vendors who sell adulterated food items, pesticide ridden fruit and vegetables, adulterated milk, etc. Restaurants which don't maintain cleanliness should be fined and shut down. In a smart city, people should not fall sick regularly but they should be healthy and happy because the food safety department works round the clock to make sure the citizens are eating safe food and drinking clean water.

Hoardings from the top of buildings must be removed as they are very dangerous during storms and also look ugly. No other foreign smart city has hoardings all over in such a haphazard manner. They should be installed strategically and other methods of advertising must be used as hoarding method is old and useless now. People can be shown the ads through TV, Internet and other systems.

Road systems should be modernized and interchanges should be built where ever needed, one example is cloverleaf interchange which is very common in other countries. More underpasses and overpasses should be constructed. On round abouts, overhead overpasses should be constructed urgently so that pedestrians don't have to walk through traffic and meet with accidents. Pedestrians also slow down traffic. Overpasses will solve all these problems.

Lucknow has a lot of nullahs and open drains which release methane and other very toxic gases which not only damage people's health, but also corrode buildings and air conditioning systems which require costly repairs. Also the bad smell emanating from drains and nullahs destroys the reputation of the city as a clean one. Most nullahs and drains including kukrail should be covered or diverted away from population. Roadside drains must be regularly cleaned and the debris must be taken away.

Lucknow airport must be equipped with the most modern instrument landing system ILS CAT IIIB or better as soon as possible. Lucknow cannot expect to become a modern smart city with an outdated Airport where plans cannot land during foggy days. Lucknow Airport is a very important airport of North India and thus it should be developed and modernized at a very rapid pace looking at the future demand and use by professionals.

Building construction in Lucknow lately has increased pollution to unbearable levels as particulate matter from cement, grinding etc spreads through out the city and causes serious respiratory problems to people, also reducing their lifespan and children grow up with asthma and bronchitis. Builders should be forced to cover the under construction building with special cover which is used in other countries and traps debris and particulate matter.

Migrant workers should be given gasconnection
