The growth of Internet penetration in India and realisation of its full potential is closely tied to the proliferation of broadband services. WLANs created using Wi-Fi technology can be used for extending the "last-mile connectivity" of broadband connections to a wider segment of users. Wi-Fi networks can offer affordable, scalable and versatile technologies that can facilitate the spread of Internet access in rural and urban areas alike.

It is felt that Wi-Fi hotspots can be proliferated in every nook and corner of the country and it should be possible to set up such hotspots by shop owners and unemployed youths. Such a model will work much like a Public Call Office (PCO) with the advantage that the operator of the Wi-Fi hotspot will not be serving the customer physically as all the transactions will happen electronically. ISPs will also be encouraged as there will be an increased consumption of data by the public. The model will also provide a boost to generation of employment in the country.

The objective of this Consultation Paper (CP) is to examine the need of encouraging public Wi-Fi networks in the country from a public policy point of view, discuss the issues in its proliferation and find out solutions for the same.

In this paper, “public Wi-Fi networks” has broader meaning and not limited to the Wi-Fi hotspot created by licensed TSP/ISP at public places. There could be small entrepreneurs or even a very small entity which would like to participate in common and shared Wi-Fi network for larger public use.

The CP raises the issues of various regulatory/licensing or policy measures required to encourage ubiquitous city-wide Wi-Fi networks as well as expansion of Wi-Fi networks in remote or rural areas. The CP also touches upon interoperability between the Wi-Fi networks of different service providers as also between cellular and Wi-Fi networks, frequency bands, payment and authentication procedure to access Wi-Fi.

Respected sir, with due respect I attract your kind attention that why don't common syllabus in all Indian schools from 1 std to 12th. And single publishers (NCERT), And same uniform for all Indian school students. If so pvt. School management can not change textbook publishers and uniform every year to earn commission. And also shall get poor students old books and uniforms free of cost. All Indian army have same uniform same as all Indian students have same uniform may be beautiful.

Attached is a detailed response to the questionnaire. I am suggesting a new class of operator called Outdoor WiFi operator who will have right to provide last mile access over WiFi to end user and will be free to charge them. These operators are then licensed on a village level and provided access to middle mile backhaul and WiFi channels based on central database.

should include all religious lesson into from lower to upper school curriculum.. so that our kids learn about our culture of respects to each other... So they can grow in harmony...Otherwise extremism and orthodox thoughts will spread to the root of the society.Second thing, introduce parents to administrative levels in government schools...so corrupted bureaucrats have less interfere option in these schools.. otherwise slowly PVt school will slowly replace public education system

Electricity staff is burning light day and night. there should be bill for them with rebate of Rs 500 per month. Electricity staff are electricity suppliers.

I had advised my house maid to make use of NaMo initiated insurance schemes through her bank. She lost her husband a few months ago. Yesterday I suddenly remembered and asked if she has collected her husband's insurance of Rs. 2,00,000. Her explanation was shocking. When she approached Bank of Maharashtra she was told that it is all a hoax and all the application forms submitted are still lying in their offices. I wish she has told me this then. Can anything be done to set things right?
