Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is a mission that has brought together the entire country to fight against the stubborn evil of insanitation and to ensure a clean India.

Thank you for such an overwhelming response. The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation organized Swachhathon 1.0 as a knowledge aggregation platform to crowd source ideas and innovations for pressing issues facing the implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

In yet another landmark intervention CSIR- National Physical Laboratory (NPL) has bestowed upon the nation, it’s first Pristine air-quality monitoring station at the Institute of Himalayan Bioresource (IHBT) at Palampur( Himachal Pradesh). A unique, first-of-it’s kind atmospheric monitoring station in the campus of IHBT, has been established by NPL at an altitude of 1391 m for generating the base data for atmospheric trace species and properties to serve as reference for comparison of polluted atmosphere in India.

One of the major environmental hazards confronting Indian cities is Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSW). The unscientific disposal of much of the Municipal Solid Waste has serious implications for public health and the environment.

“मेरी सरकार” के माध्यम से राष्ट्रीय सफाई कर्मचारी वित्त एवं विकास निगम (एनएसकेएफडीसी) द्वारा उनकी प्रस्तावित योजना के लिए शीर्षक और प्रचार वाक्य सुझाने के लिए प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया था। इसके लिए हमें 879 प्रविष्टियाँ प्राप्त हुईं जिसमें से सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्रालय द्वारा 20 प्रविष्टियों का चयन किया गया। कर्नाटक के कोराटगेरे जिले के श्री बालाजी डी.के. द्वारा सुझाए गए शीर्षक “सफाई उद्यमी योजना” और इलाहबाद, उत्तर प्रदेश के श्री अंकुर श्रीवास्तव द्वारा सुझाए गए शीर्षक “स्वच्छता से सम्पन्नता की ओर” को विजेता के रूप में चुना गया और प्रत्येक को रू.10000/- के नकद पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।
