We should take a balanced mixture of essential nutrients in food such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins because these nutrients directly affect our health. Seasonal green vegetables and fruits should also be given priority in food. In this way, a balanced diet with essential nutrients will strengthen our immune system, so that our body will be able to fight against diseases like common cold and seasonal infections. Exercise and yoga should be done along with balanced diet.
A healthy diet prevents malnutrition and protects from diseases like obesity, heart disease, diabetes, cancer and stroke. Today, many people's diets consist of more saturated fat, trans fats, sugars, and more sodium than fruits, vegetables and dietary fiber. Your body's health reflects what you put into it.
Hello,
I am the student of class 11th from JNV, Consuming a healthy diet throughout the life-course helps to prevent malnutrition in all its forms as well as a range of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and conditions. However, increased production of processed foods, rapid urbanization and changing lifestyles have led to a shift in dietary patterns. People are now consuming more foods high in energy, fats, free sugars and salt/sodium, and many people do not eat enough fruit, vegetables etc.
A healthy diet helps to protect against malnutrition in all its forms, as well as noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), including such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer.
Unhealthy diet and lack of physical activity are leading global risks to health.
Healthy dietary practices start early in life – breastfeeding fosters healthy growth and improves cognitive development, and may have longer term health benefits such as reducing the risk of becoming overweight or obese and developing NCD.
Cut down on snacks – Unhealthy snacks are a strict no as they hamper your hunger. Switching to healthy bite-sized food can help.
Curb emotional eating – Binge eating can be extremely harmful. Using it to relieve yourself from stress, sadness, or anxiety may affect your health. Instead, you can use healthier alternatives to beat negative emotions.
It’s not just a balanced diet that’s enough but also healthy practices of eating. Some of them which you can follow are:
Eat-in smaller portions – You can do this by eating in small bowls to trick your brain into thinking it to be larger portions.
Take time to eat – Not rushing your meals in between other work but taking the time to nourish your meals can send signals to your brain that you’ve had enough food necessary for functioning.
