The digital world has become an essential part of our daily lives—whether it’s social media, online shopping, digital banking, or gaming. Along with these opportunities come new risks such as Investment Scam, Instant Loan, Part time job, Trading, Sextortion, Courier Fraud, Digital Arrest, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS).

To build a safer online community, Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in collaboration with MyGov invites citizens to join the Digital Safety Dialogue. This open discussion is a space for sharing personal experiences, safety tips, and community practices that help protect against cyber threats. By learning from each other, we can strengthen digital safety awareness and promote secure online behavior for all.

Your inputs will help create a collective pool of ideas and practices that can be used to spread awareness and guide citizens towards building a Cybercrime-free Digital Bharat.

आज के डिजिटल युग में साइबर सुरक्षा हमारी सबसे बड़ी जिम्मेदारी बन गई है। हमें हर ऑनलाइन प्लेटफ़ॉर्म पर सतर्क रहना चाहिए — चाहे वो सोशल मीडिया हो, ऑनलाइन शॉपिंग या बैंकिंग। मैं सभी से अपील करता हूँ कि कभी भी अनजान लिंक, फर्जी कॉल या ईमेल पर अपनी निजी जानकारी साझा न करें। साथ ही, अपने पासवर्ड को मजबूत रखें और दो-स्तरीय सुरक्षा (Two-Factor Authentication) का उपयोग करें। अगर हम सब मिलकर सावधानी बरतें तो “Cybercrime-free Digital Bharat” बनाना संभव है। – Sohil Khan #DigitalSafetyDialogue #CyberAwareness #SafeIndia

Scams are evolving fast, and AI makes them harder to detect—voices can be copied, faces morphed, videos faked. Our preventive tech hasn’t kept pace. Aadhaar introduced locks after major breaches, but other documents like PAN and passports remain vulnerable. Implementing locks for these is feasible in months without new laws. Locks can render identity theft useless—lenders or apps would be blocked from misuse. Specialized locks like credit, GST, and property are possible, yet India lags behind systems like US credit freeze. Digital literacy is crucial so people use locks; it won’t stop theft entirely but limits damage and prevents victims from being blamed until proven innocent.

To tackle rising cyber threats, we need a mix of awareness, strong digital hygiene, and quick reporting mechanisms. Citizens should verify links before clicking, avoid sharing personal or financial details, use secure passwords and two-factor authentication, and regularly update devices. Schools, workplaces, and communities must conduct cyber safety workshops to educate people about scams and frauds. Collaboration between government, digital platforms, and citizens can help build a Cybercrime-free Digital Bharat.

Vast Subject 3 key areas i'd like to highlight 1. Regulation Infant , Toddler and Children screentime. Urgent need for widespread awareness in parents to discourage excessive and unsupervised use of internet based entertainment for young ones. it causes virtual autism and creates defects in their growing brain. 2. An app or website that can scan genuine vs scam links , so before making any transaction or clicking the link the user can check on the website for Authenticity 3. Easy Whatsapp based complaint Chatpot/channel for Cyber police where the user can raise their concern or get Consultation on the process of complaint as per the nature of Cyber crime.
