At just 15, Akshara Devalla has turned the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram' into a powerful youth movement. Inspired by the government's recognition of the full anthem, she began a fearless patriotic pilgrimage, her 'Gilhari Ka Yogdaan'. Several recommendations regarding worker welfare, submitted by the public, were not incorporated into the final rules of the labour codes. A demand to make it mandatory for companies to disclose the specific nature of work assigned to an employee to the EPFO ​​has been rejected. The issue of additional social security for workers engaged in hazardous tasks has become a matter of concern. Companies tend to conceal this information because wages and corresponding social security benefits are determined based on job classification. Only if additional monthly contributions are made to the ESIC for workers in hazardous roles can the ESIC develop the necessary additional medical infrastructure for them. It should be made mandatory to report the job details—as outlined in the SOP—assigned to an employee to the EPFO ​​and ESIC.

Even after the implementation of the final rules for the new Labour Codes (2026), the hardships faced by workers persist. Under these new rules, job roles are classified into categories such as unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled; however, private companies arbitrarily designate employee categories at their own discretion and assign job titles not recognized by the law. This practice adversely affects the receipt of wages and other social security benefits. While it is a ground reality that the government cannot compel private companies to adjust wages in line with the rising cost of living, the authority to mandate job classifications rests solely with the government.the government must issue a directive making it mandatory to classify jobs strictly in accordance with the law. Terms that disadvantage workers—such as "Junior," "Senior," "Temporary," "Substitute," "Grade," or "Level"—are unnecessary.
