Hon'ble PM Modi Ji, Govt should also consider introducing Bill for amending the Indian Passport Act thereby making the Indian Passport as valid proof of the Indian Citizenship. Sir, Is this not ironical that the Indian Passport is officially being perceived as some travel document only? Sir, How come that the ongoing SIR exercise in various states, clearly stipulates that in case of any discrepancy in the Voter's details (with reference to SIR, 2002) passport is being mentioned therein as one of the valid documents? It obviously implies that the Indian Passport is not merely some travel document. It may thus be high time to treat the Indian Passport as incontrovertible proof of the Indian Citizenship.
