The Logistics Division, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens' suggestions and comments on the National Transport Master Plan, covering connectivity, travel experience and transport priorities for the next 10 years.

The Logistics Division, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MyGov, invites suggestions and comments from citizens for the preparation of the National Transport Master Plan, which will guide the country's road, railway, aviation, maritime and urban connectivity over the next 10 years.

On the occasion of the 5th Anniversary of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (13 October 2026), this discussion seeks the on-ground experience and ideas of citizens who travel every day, whether for work, study, business or family. The aim is an integrated, multimodal and citizen-centric transport network that makes the movement of people and goods faster, safer and smoother.

Citizens are invited to share views on the following:

      1. First and last mile connectivity: how easily you can reach and leave stations, bus stands, airports and ports.
      2. Amenities and facilities in Railways and Roadways: at railway stations, bus stands, highways and rest areas.
      3. Expected travel time and experience from the National Capital to State Capitals: what is reasonable and what you actually experience.
      4. Expected travel time and experience from State Capitals to District Headquarters: what is reasonable and what you actually experience.
      5. Preferred mode of travel: Rail, Road or Air, and why.
      6. Local transport, including Metro and buses: availability, reliability, comfort and safety.
      7. Infrastructure priority: whether the Government should prioritise Roads or Railways, and why.
      8. Adherence to traffic laws: your suggestions to improve road discipline and safety.

Respected Sir,Namestay.Firstly A lots of gratitude towards them, who are working hard with purity/ ethically for 140 Cr citizens & for Vikisit Bharat. For long distances goods & passenger transport more attention & expenditure on Railway network in comparison to Road transport considering life- cycle cost, environmental impact, safety of human life, energy security, currency stability, lesser air pollution etc.Logistics cost is lesser by rail transport.India will have surplus electricity( renewal) .

Mission Surakshit Sadak – Road Sathi Mission India is building world-class roads and expressways, but much of this investment will lose its value if traffic behaviour does not improve. Wrong-side driving, signal jumping, dangerous overtaking, unnecessary honking and poor lane discipline reduce both safety and efficiency. As an Indian who has also lives in Canada, I have seen how predictable enforcement changes driver behaviour. I propose a national pilot combining: trained part-time/full-time “Road Sathis” to digitally report verified violations; stronger licence testing; penalty points and mandatory requalification for repeat offenders; and independent audits of Road Sathis and licence officers. The aim should not be to collect more fines, but to make safe driving habitual. India needs better roads, but also better drivers and better enforcement. Infrastructure and road behaviour must improve together.

The government should make road safety rules stricter, with heavy fines and penalties for overspeeding, overloading, and dangerous driving, like in the UAE. Highways should be properly maintained, and separate lanes for heavy vehicles should be provided wherever possible.Special attention should be given to rural areas and villages, where many roads are still kacha (unpaved) or in poor condition. These roads should be properly constructed and maintained so that villagers can travel safely in all seasons. A country's development should not be measured only by its big highways and smart cities, but also by the condition of roads in its villages. Even today, many villagers struggle to travel on kacha and damaged roads, especially during the rainy season. Children face difficulties reaching schools, patients struggle to reach hospitals on time, and farmers find it hard to transport their crops to the markets.I request the government to give equal importance to village & rural roads

Hi Sir, 1) POK acquisition. 2) Our own Satellite internet. 3) Remove the cheque system from all banks; keep only digital transactions. 4) More EV transportation and charging stations across the country. 5) Our own jet engine. 6) Ask all government departments to convert their processes to digital with a touch of AI. 7) Close the Gen Z protest. 8) 4-day workweek culture with the progress of AI and Robotics. 9) Start nuclear energy plants for electricity generation. Thanks
