Accessibility is the key to inclusion and equal access for people with disabilities. An accessible barrier-free environment is the first step towards fulfilling the right of people with disabilities to participate in all areas of community life.
Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment will launch “Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan)” as a nation-wide flagship campaign for achieving universal accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The campaign targets at enhancing the accessibility of built environment, transport system and Information and Communication (ICT) eco-system.

WE ARE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING
I am an Architect and it really bothers me when a physically challenged person is unable to access any part of a building. I am submitting my poster design in a hope that our Nation rises (not moves) towards a barrier free built environment. In my design I have used blue colour as the background, as it represents sea/sky, symbolizing limitlessness and a boundary- less environment. The wings represent freedom that a disabled person would feel through a barrier free built environment.
