During the Rashtriya Ekta Divas address on 31st October, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced that the Government of India proposes to launch a new initiative called ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The programme aims to give a boost to the existing cultural connect between different parts of the country and enhance interaction between people living in different states.
Conceptually, the idea is that each year one state should connect to any other state in India on a reciprocal basis. As the Prime Minister himself explained through an example in his speech, "Haryana as a state can decide to connect with Tamil Nadu for the year 2016 and the activities that Haryana state can undertake may include popularizing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu in Haryana through song festivals, book festivals, literary events, food festivals, tours of people of Haryana to Tamil Nadu and vice versa. In the year 2017, Haryana would connect to any other state and in 2018 to another state and so on".
The knowledge of the culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between each other thereby strengthening the unity and and integrity of India. The full address of the portion of the Prime Minister's speech, where he announced the scheme, can be accessed here.
We believe that such an initiative to connect people-to-people should be implemented with inputs from the citizens of India.
With this view, MyGov introduces the ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ contest. Citizens are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions on how the programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterises India.
While the citizens are free to submit their ideas in kernel format, they can also expand in detail on the themes and sub-themes. Citizens may consider the following general themes on which to base their ideas, while submitting their entries. These themes are only indicative and participants are free to include any other points they deem appropriate.
1. Identifying role of central government and state governments in implementing the programme
2. Identifying the manner in which the governments, civil society and private sector can work together.
3. Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
4. Documentation of success stories.
5. Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme.
Participants are encouraged to submit original and innovative ideas. An idea, merely rich in detail but lacking originality, would not score more than a very innovative idea explained briefly. However, if a very innovative idea is also explained in detail, it will naturally score higher.
Participants may submit their entries as attached PDF documents while providing a summary of their proposals in the comment section.
The winners of the contest will be awarded a certificate by the Prime Minister, along with cash prizes as follows:
1. First Prize - Rs. 100,000/-
2. Second Prize - Rs. 75,000/-
3. Third Prize - Rs. 50,000/-
The last date for submission is 25th December, 2015.

#EKBharatShreshthaBharat can be achieved through language exchange. As per my view people from different parts of India can be brought together by creating a bilateral platform which helps in exchange of dialects from different regions. In India the divide which is visible is through caste and language. If we are able to build a platform for language exchange it will surely create conducive atmosphere of better understanding and cultural exchange which will bridge the gap bringing harmony.
The proposed conducive eco-system framework for ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' - 'Unified Bharati–Nurturing One and All' concept note targets inculcating a friendly eco-system syncronizin favourable political environment, economic environment, social environment, technological environment, legal environment, ecological environment for 'EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' attempting aliigning with initiatives such as "Make in India" and "Swachch Bharat Abhiyan".
जय भारती !
I am attaching the pdf file related to "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat". Thanks and Regards.
India to maintain its uniqueness requires to function as a smooth cohesive unit. It is required to ensure exchange of customs, culinary events, students, literary events, folk events at block and district level with thorough participation of the young, adult and retired old persons with active help of the central government, state government, NGOs and well meaning institutions. The electronic medium should work as a means of spreading the good word about the project.

Dear Sir,
I gaurav Dadhich basically from Rajasthan but only for job living in karnataka bellary. In karnataka I have seen that so many rajasthanies are living and most of the business is also doing by them. but in rajasthan we can not see so much kanndaians. So my point is we can celebrate our religious festivals in the city where we are living and government can do it in a bigger picture. Spoken class for all should also be a great idea.
hello sir,
as of now we are developing digitally but from the history agriculture and cultivation is the back bone so why cant we concentrate on agriculture. my idea is that why cant we recruit the farmers for cultivation under the guidance of agricultural graduates by providing a platform to the farmers by establishing a corporation and paying the minimum wages every month to the farmers and taking the cultivated product and sell in the market from this we can avoid agricultural loans also.
Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme-For making india developed there is need of peopels awarness towards follow there right. Until the people will not aware towards there rights a country can no become perfect. A country not becomes develop by developed buildings, & others while it call developed when the people of that country became develop & for developed people there is need of develop thinking. when you are wrong you cant blame anyone

STUDENT CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM AMONG THE STATES OF INDIA
Respected Sir,
My suggestion is that Student Cultural Exchange Program that happens between countries can be implemented among Indian states too.
Students nowadays are very aware, dynamic and enterprising. They are willing to share and do good for society.
Universities can introduce this cultural program as part of the curriculum- either as mandatory or optional.

As India is a country with different religion with all respect of honour. Here the motive of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" by our Hon'ble PM signifies to create cultural activity between different parts means States across the Country. To accumulate a huge interaction by the creating a musical with sociologic environment between the people to maintain a unity among states of the country.

The first and foremost thing is keep one common language Hindi for everyone in India. It is Hindustan hind desh .and Hindi is rashrtra bhasha. I am a Gujarati but I don't mind speaking Hindi when majority of it understand. Each state has its own language but to unite there's one language required. Its not just the heart that connects its the speech too. Exchanging and learning each others language culture is good but being on same platform is necessary.
