During the Rashtriya Ekta Divas address on 31st October, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced that the Government of India proposes to launch a new initiative called ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The programme aims to give a boost to the existing cultural connect between different parts of the country and enhance interaction between people living in different states.

Conceptually, the idea is that each year one state should connect to any other state in India on a reciprocal basis. As the Prime Minister himself explained through an example in his speech, "Haryana as a state can decide to connect with Tamil Nadu for the year 2016 and the activities that Haryana state can undertake may include popularizing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu in Haryana through song festivals, book festivals, literary events, food festivals, tours of people of Haryana to Tamil Nadu and vice versa. In the year 2017, Haryana would connect to any other state and in 2018 to another state and so on".

The knowledge of the culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between each other thereby strengthening the unity and and integrity of India. The full address of the portion of the Prime Minister's speech, where he announced the scheme, can be accessed here.

We believe that such an initiative to connect people-to-people should be implemented with inputs from the citizens of India.

With this view, MyGov introduces the ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ contest. Citizens are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions on how the programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterises India.

While the citizens are free to submit their ideas in kernel format, they can also expand in detail on the themes and sub-themes. Citizens may consider the following general themes on which to base their ideas, while submitting their entries. These themes are only indicative and participants are free to include any other points they deem appropriate.

1. Identifying role of central government and state governments in implementing the programme
2. Identifying the manner in which the governments, civil society and private sector can work together.
3. Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
4. Documentation of success stories.
5. Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme.

Participants are encouraged to submit original and innovative ideas. An idea, merely rich in detail but lacking originality, would not score more than a very innovative idea explained briefly. However, if a very innovative idea is also explained in detail, it will naturally score higher.

Participants may submit their entries as attached PDF documents while providing a summary of their proposals in the comment section.

The winners of the contest will be awarded a certificate by the Prime Minister, along with cash prizes as follows:

1. First Prize - Rs. 100,000/-
2. Second Prize - Rs. 75,000/-
3. Third Prize - Rs. 50,000/-

The last date for submission is 25th December, 2015.

I think In order to create a hormony in the country or so called ekta, First we need to taught them about our different cultures.
If we don't tell a person from north India that how things go along in south India, then obviously he'll become a stereotype.
We must add chapters in our history books about the indian history instread of those french revolution.
We are more interested in knowing about our own culture.
More over, to join people of this country, first we need to join their minds.

Employment was a prime most concern in India,Now it is employability ,why not this mission compromise of building youth on basis of Employability.
"Train an individual after basic study in his any field for his employment and develop employability skills ie practical knowledge
Why create a situation where a graduate,Btech, phd's applying for a post of clerk in India
and they apply not to simply earn a livelihood but to escape themselves from fear of society and shame because of being educated

1)The major hindrance between 2 States Haryana and Tamil Nadu is language difference. This we can reduce by distributing alphabet books with coloring pages among children having translation of major words and phrases
2)Creating more attractive job packages for translators of Hindi to Tamil and vice versa and encouraging them to translate the good literature of both languages.
3)Exchange of food of both States in the form compatible to each other
4) Exchange of music CDs with good lyrics

: In my opinion to interlink one society/part to another one it is necessary to mutually exchange their culture, art, habits, language, through education, business and tourism.
In brief we can promote our noble complain of “ Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat” through Marriage,Education,Entertainment, Tourism, Trade (MEETT).

Government should organize a fair festival like kala ghoda of Mumbai particular Indian state theme in fields. There the activities related to a particular state’s ‘culture like music, dance can be performed. State’s tribal history their tactics of warfare weapons can be put on display. Food stalls should include only particular state’s delicious food .Unique agricultural, production activities and ways can be shown experimentally or made so that people can try it

Every religion teaches us that "GOD IS ONE" or "WE SHOULD SPEAK TRUTH" and many various things that are same in each and every HOLY BOOK so i think that govt. should make a compilation of all the teachings of each and every religion from there books like QURAN , GEETA , BIBLE etc. by consulting all the religious heads. Sitting together and discussing it to make a "GRANTH BHARAT " and this GRANTH BHARAT should be introduced in school syllabus so that they know that every religion teaches same.
