According to me the first priority of the govt should be to focus on the major problems in the city currently like cover open drianages,develop the roads,slums should be removed and houses to be allocated to them,solar panels to be installed where ever appropriate,focus on cleanliness,underground cabling for electricity,installing wifi at key public areas like railway stations,parks etc.
A smart city essentially needs a basic foundation which can be achieved by solving above problems.

My vision for Vizag is where the fundamental needs of affordable food, clean air, water, sanitation, shelter and personal safety are paramount. A city that is considerate towards pedestrians, children, elderly and disabled; where access to comfortable transportation, affordable health care and education are priorities. Where the citizen and government are trusting partners, where personal rights, freedom of speech and tolerance are practiced. Where children play in parks and people smile a lot.

My entry for Vision Competition

Visakhapatnam should be a future IT Hub, Tourism Destination and Pollution less. We need separate Board for SmartCity, who only concentrate completely (24 X 7) on Vizag Growth. We have to improve the Transport facility, for that we need special Zone for Railway and focus on special tourist spots to improve Tourism and announce special benefits to IT companies . More over We have to implement "Swachha Bharat" to improve our city as Clean and cool city. IT-Tourism-Polutionless City.

Vizag, to be come a smart city it should create lot of opportunities to unemployed and shud host lot of multi national it and other companies.City should be clean and green with strict implementation of rules.Many tourism places in vizag must be improved than now and create some more interesting places to visit for tourists.Govt transportation mustbe available 24hrs which is nt available now with cleantraffic.lot of uncompleted commitments from govt like railway zone nd many other must finish
