The Jhansi Municipal Corporation is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected through a competitive process for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). In the next phase, our city has to compete with 98 other cities to make it to the top 20 to be taken up for first round of funding, for year 2015-16.
In this context, the Jhansi Municipal Corporation is in the process of preparing the Smart City Proposal. Jhansi Municipal Corporation seeks valuable suggestions of the citizens to formulate the Essay for the Smart City Jhansi.
A strategic essay shapes a preferred future for a city. A successful essay has economic, spatial, social and environmental dimensions that reflect a city’s unique physical and cultural traits; it provides direction for the activities of the Corporation, citizens and stakeholders; and ensures that citizens, city agencies, and stakeholders are working towards those shared sub-goals. The Essay should inspire our city’s residents and can even become the branding for our smart city.
Terms and Conditions
1. Maximum word limit 1000 words
2. All the Essays must be submitted in .pdf(PDF) or .jpg(JPEG)
3. Citizens can submit Essay in “English”, “Hindi”
4. A statement outlining the essay for what we would want Jhansi to be as a smart city. It should be a positive statement.
5. The essay should be unique and futuristic based on inherent elements of the city.
6. The essay should clearly portray the elements in context of Jhansi city only.
7. This competition is open for all
8. The best 3 Vision Statements would be declared as winners.
• First prize – Rs. 5100
• Second prize – Rs. 2100
• Third prize – Rs. 1100
9. All the Participate will receive Participation Certificate.
10. The last date to submit your entries is 25th November, 2015.

Jhansi is a important city of India from ancient time. In British rule It was from one of the most developed cities . We can see the railway station of jhansi which is world class.I want to thank our PM Modi and Indian govt to make for including jhansi in smart cities. now it is our duty to contribute to this. the main thing that require improvement in jhansi is its infrastructure, roadways.To improve this all first of all we need to improve our technology.
To make Jhansi a smart city many measures should be taken, to make Jhansi a "DREAM CITY" The measures to taken are as follows :
1. People should be make aware of cleaniness,it should be the duty of every citizen of jhansi to keep his city clean, dustbins should be implemented after every 1 Km space and they should throw any grabbage in the dustbins.
2. Proper lighting in every nooks and corner of the city should be made.
3.Hand thelas, Ferivala should be properly handled they should not sta
no matter watever u give or doesn't gave,but the few main point that to be notice is 1.that still NH-75 is under construction and taken a decade and yet not has been completed. 2.smart people requires smart city bus and here is no proper city bus network. 3.Here people are still unemployed in large number so,to employ them few manufacturing factories need to be setup. 4. There is still no proper number of superfast train on a route b/w jhansi-manikpur and this route needs to be upgraded
