Vellore invites children between the age of 10 and 17 to participate in essay competition for developing the vision statements for proposed smart city.

All the questions below must be answered to be eligible for consideration of the essay

1. Describe a ‘smart’ idea that you have seen in some other city (anywhere in the world) that you should like to see replicated in your own city. ‘Smart idea’ means doing more with less.
2. Describe 3 ways that Indian cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor.
3. List out 5 essential facilities provided by your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizens.

All students should clearly mention their Name, address, father’s & mother’s name and Name and address of the School.

X-Factor: Better Education System

Language: Tamil, English, Hindi

Word Limit: 1000

Age limit: 10 to 17 years as on December 31st 2015.

Evaluation Criteria: Do-ability (50%) Innovation (50%)

Prize money for top 3 entries

a. First Prize: Rs. 5000/-
b. Second Prize: Rs. 3000/-
c. Third Prize: Rs. 2000/-
