Durga Puja or Durgotsav is an annual festival celebrated predominantly in West Bengal. It has often been termed as the “Carnival of the East” and celebrates the victory of Good over Evil.

Dr. Krishan Kumar, the Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and the Vice-Chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority was invited to the Red FM 93.5 Radio Station to brief the citizens on the completion phase of Round-1 activities planned for the Citizens Connect Initiative for the Bhubaneswar Smart City campaign and the commencement of Round-2.

One of the important aspect of the Bhubaneswar Smart City – Citizens Connect Initiative launching ceremony was throwing the house open to issues and concerns raised by the citizens.

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) launched the Citizen’s Connect Initiative- ‘Bhubaneswar Smart City- the Big Connect’– at IDCOL Auditorium on the morning of September 26th, 2015.

Smart city initiative became the topic of discussion between every citizen of karnal, the talks and discussion can be heard in every nook and corner of the city , a wave of change can be felt by everyone of them.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation hosted a talk-show on 5th October, 2015 to launch a city-wide comprehensive citizen engagement program at the HT Parekh Hall at Ahmedabad Management Association. Citizen engagement is an integral part of Ahmedabad’s smart city proposal.

Jabalpur Municipal Corporation organized a kick-off meeting and talk show "Samvad" as a part of citizen engagement program under smart city mission.

The National Trust for the welfare of persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation & Multiple Disabilities is a statutory body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, set up under an Act of the Parliament in the year 1999 for the welfare of these persons with disabilities.

A two day Work Shop is going on 29th and 30th September, 2015, at “Utsari” Hall, at Eco Island, New Town, Kolkata, to create a roadmap to develop and design the Smart City proposal with active citizen engagement.
