For the past few weeks, MyGov has been proactively engaging volunteers in different groups, thereby making the platform a citizen-driven initative in the true sense. Read what our star performing volunteers of the week have to say about their experience of volunteering:

Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation had invited entries for design of logo of Sardar Patel National Mission on Urban Housing. The last date for sending in entries was 24th October 2014. The response from citizens has been very encouraging. The Ministry thanks those who participated in the competition. The Ministry is in the process of finalising the scheme and is also engaged in short listing the entries. Once the scheme is finalised, the results will be declared.

The Department of Land Resources had invited designs for logos, name with tagline for various programs of the Department viz. the Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP), the World Bank Assisted National Watershed Management Project ‘Neeranchal’ and the National Land Records Modernization Programme (NRLMP). The last date for sending in entries was 10th October 2014. The response from the citizens has been very enthusiastic and more than 2500 entries have been received. Many entries are highly creative with a high level of design and art work. Many entries are imaginatively capturing the essence of these programs. The Department thanks everyone who took out time to actively participate in the competition. We are the process of shortlisting the entries and results will be declared shortly. The Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana Group on MyGov invited inputs from citizens for essential facilities under the scheme. Citizens have brainstormed and presented innovative ideas based on rural culture and population such as promotion of regional arts, taking the PPP route for building homes with the help of local architects etc. Emphasis is also laid on strengthening the Common Service Centre (CSC) network in villages. The Clean Ganga, Incredible India and Digital India Groups on MyGov citizen engagement platform for participatory governance have emerged as significant and powerful forums for citizens to put forth their suggestions and concerns regarding cleaning the Ganga, tourism and the Digital India Mission respectively.

A contest to design e-greeting templates for the festival of Diwali was held on MyGov platform. Exuberant participation was shown by citizens. As many as 1140 attractive creations were received. Out of those creative entries, 19 creations have been shortlisted. Heartiest congratulation to the winners! Following are the names and creations of the winners:

After an enthusiastic participation shown by the citizens, the results of the E-Greeting designing competition for Gandhi Jayanti are out. The contest was held by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on the MyGov platform. The competition struck the right chord as over 1300 innovative responses were received. MyGov congratulates the winners! Here’s a glimpse of the names of the winners and their creations:

The winners of the contests for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan organized by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation have been announced. The Ministry sought peoples’ participation in suggesting a suitable logo and slogan for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan through the MyGov platform. The contests successfully concluded on 19th September. Keeping in view the goal of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to make India Open Defecation Free - the competitions received enormous responses. More than 5000 responses received for slogan writing contest. While for logo, it was over 1600. Below are the names and details of the winners. MyGov congratulates the winners!

MyGov and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare came up with an E-Greetings designing competition for Gandhi Jayanti. On October 2, 1994, school children of Delhi moved a step forward and contributed their labour in Polio eradication. The efforts enabled India to be Polio free today. MHFW gave an opportunity to the citizens of India to pay tribute to the Father of The Nation by designing E-Greetings on the MyGov Creative Corner. More than 1300 innovative designs have been submitted by citizens. The last date of entry was 19th September 2014. The winners will be announced shortly.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation came up with creative contests for its proposed scheme on the MyGov platform. The scheme will work under the envisioned ‘Antyodaya’ philosophy of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. It aims to improve livelihood of the poor and the urban poor by offering concessional loans for setting up micro enterprises, skill training and mobilization of women into self help groups and more. The all- embracing scheme is set to embark on 25th September 2014, the Birth Anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Competitions were organized under three categories for suggesting name, logo and tagline for the scheme. Contest for suggesting a name for the scheme fetched around 2500 responses (check here).
