When Mahatma Gandhi visited Kerala in 1934, he praised the carpenters of Kerala. In the past, in Kerala, before laying the foundation stone for a building, the recite Sanskrit mantras and perform a ritual. It was part of showing respect to the land. When Gandhi visited Kerala in 1934, he laid the foundation for the hostel at the Ramakrishna Ashram in Punnukunnu, Thrissur, which was linked to the Vidyamandir school. At that time, it was customary for the artisans (masons) to chant mantras before the foundation ceremony. But no one really knew the meaning or purpose of these rituals. Seeing the artisans perform the ceremony, Gandhi got interested in the mantras they were reciting. The school manager present there had the ancient mantras recited again by the artisans and wrote them down, then explained their meaning to Gandhi. The meaning of the Sanskrit verses was as follows: Here, in this small place, for the sake of human habitation, a building is being constructed

HONBLE PM SIR PLEASE TELL ABOUT Pydimarri Venkata Subba Rao (10 June 1916 – 1988) who was an Indian Telugu author who is best remembered as the composer of the National Pledge of India. few people only know about him and his contribution for invoking patriotism in schools. Subba Rao composed the National Pledge in Telugu in 1962 while he was serving as the District Treasury Officer of Vishakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh. He was a close associate of the nationalist leader Tenneti Viswanadham, who forwarded the pledge to the then Education Minister of Andhra Pradesh, P.V.G. Raju who was also known as the Raja Garu of Vizianagaram. Raju directed all the schools in the district to have the students take the pledge and it was subsequently taken up at the national level. The Advisory Committee of the Department of Education, Government of India at its meeting in Bangalore in 1964 decided to introduce the pledge in all schools nationally from 26 January 1965.
